Along a slow running stream, Il Mulino (which means 'the mill') was an old water mill. The old mill stones have been maintained. Nearby Monterchi is a wonderful hilltop village, traditional and unspoilt and with a choice of 6 restaurants. There is a 9 hole golf course approx 15 minutes from the house, and a serious professional course only 45 minutes away - close to Perugia. The villa is surrounded by stunning countryside, offering beautiful walks around its land and the adjacent woods. Walkers have often reported seeing wild boar, deer as well as a whole variety of birds. The woods are also full of porcini mushrooms, chestnuts and truffles (for those that know how to find them). With the famous hills of Tuscany, you can pick a gentle ride down into the village of Monterchi, or a full blooded Mountain Bike ride through the woods. |

Monterchi is brilliantly placed for exploring both Tuscany and Umbria. An easy drive to Prada and other famous outlets, as well as the newly opened outlet village in Tuscany. Nearby Arezzo offers easy connections to Florence, Rome, Siena, Pisa, Cortona. Other nearby places of interest include Assisi, Perugia, Gubbio, San Gimignano, Sansepolcro, Citta di Castello, Urbino. There is always somewhere new to visit, and Monterchi itself offers a great deal of history and famous art. Monterchi has a great feel of the real Italy, and the local villagers go out of their way to make you welcome. For art lovers, Monterchi is home to the famous 'Madonna del Parto' by Piero della Francesca. Monterchi has a great choice of reasonably priced restaurants. |

| There are 8 airports within a three hour drive of this villa in Tuscany, the closest of which are Perugia (one hour), Bologna Forli (1.5 hours) and Florence (1.5 hours). The house is 30 minutes from main A1 motorway and 20 minutes from the convenient E45 dual carriageway. Il Mulino is just 30 minutes from Arezzo station, with a direct line north to Florence, Bologna and Milan, and south to Rome. Taking the train is very easy and takes all the trouble out of parking at your destination. |

There are 3 double bedrooms, all ensuite. One room can be made up as a double or twin. There are 2 quality fixed cots and a travel cot. There is a comfortable double sofabed in the living room. The living room also has an open fireplace and seating for up to 8 people. The dining room seats up to 8 and includes a highchair. There are also stairgates inside. There’s a full range of entertainment available, from satellite TV to CD, DVD and wireless broadband access.

Large fenced pool area with 6 comfortable sunbeds, 2 moveable large umbrellas, sunwarmed shower, table & chairs. Safe grass playing fields with mini football posts and toys - slide, swings, mini house etc. A short walk from the house there are chickens (no cockrels!!!) where guests are welcome to help themselves to fresh eggs. There are also sheep and pigs to see (depending on the time of year). Guests are also welcome to help themselves to fresh produce from the large vegetable garden close to the house.

Music concerts: In July and August in Monterchi. In the gardens of the Madonna del Parto museum, every Wednesday night, Monterchi is host for music concerts. The events are free of charge and after the concerts a buffet is served. Fashion Outlets: Within an hour’s drive, you can find Italy’s top fashion labels, as well as designer labels from all over the world. Among the names are Prada, The Mall, Gucci. For our guests, we have a special discount card. We also have a special agreement with other local select stores. Wine Tasting: We have a special agreement with a local “Enoteca”. You can try an assortment of local Tuscan and Umbrian wines, with salamis and cheeses. Art & Culture: Monterchi is home to the famous 'Madonna del Parto', by Piero della Francesca. The remainder of his work can be found in nearby Sansepolcro and Arezzo.
