Excellant comunication with owner,we rented the downstairs apartment and it was all we could have wished for, great location for exploring the area. The local town of Fivizzano has everything you would require, supermarket, various types of shops, bars, restaurants. The bars/restaurants around the square are great value for money and are so friendly. We would highly recommend the mill to stay in. The accommodation is great, really well equipped-absolutely everything you might need, even a patio overlooking the stream with a barbecue. The locality is great, loads of places within reasonably easy reach, but a car is essential if you want to get anywhere much.On the other hand if you just want to stay in the house and relax then it's perfect for that too!

"Character in abudance..!" Dimora alla Cascata comes very highly recommended..! The booking process with the owner was seemless. I asked lots of questions which were answered promptly with extensive information to help me decide that this was the accomodation for me. The property is a converted water mill next to a stream and waterfall with great character. It has a secluded feel and is tastefully presented. The apartment was very well equipped and we made regular use of the bbq with it's excellent waterfall views. The village has an excellent restaurant 2 minutes away which is very friendly and serves great food. We flew into Pisa airport and out of Genoa which are both close to the Mill. The rest of Tuscany is easier accessable using the Mill as a base. I will be back soon.

"A Majical PLace Fivizzano And The Mill" The mills set in a perfect location between the mountains and the sea .You will need a car, but there is a bus service to a large town, this has station with conectons to all cities. The mill if you are looking for peace and tranquilty has this in abudance. The accomodation offers comfortable rustic charm.First hand knowledge and information provided bye Lindsay gives you peace of mind to enjoy all that Fivizzano has to offer.Fivizzano the charm of a village but the bustle of Italian ,life with its shops caffes and makets. This has given us many wonderful holidays its just a majical place

If ever a little bit of heaven dropped off it landed here in Verrucola. We needed to chill out, oh boy have we chilled! This really is the most fabulous place to stay for many reasons…. The world needs places like this!
Di & Joe H.,  Poulton Le Filde, Lancs, UK,  Aug 2004

My partner and I drove 1300 miles and finally arrived in Lunigiana, at Tuscany's northernmost tip. We had rented part of a watermill at Verrucola which made us gasp it was so beautiful…I felt we had gone back to the 13th century with cobbled stone streets, quaint old houses and the most stunning castle just next door. In perfect timing for my birthday we enjoyed the local archery festa which took place over two days at the Piazza Medicea, Fivizzano. Everyone wore medieval costume and in the evening the church in the piazza was a backdrop for the most amazing firework display….I hope the readers of 'Italy' get a chance to experience the delights of the two villages. I am sure they will feel like we did - that they will never want to go home.
Deborah B.,  Bournemouth, UK,  Aug 2003

We had the most fabulous time in Verrucola, attending the odd mass on Sunday and Alfi's Cantina on Saturday nights. The locals were extremely friendly and most tolerate of these strange foreigners - 5 week stay for anniversary celebrations
