General Info |
|
| |
Garfagnana – Media Valle del Serchio is an area of northwestern Tuscany, located in the Province of Lucca. In this marvellous setting, this group of farmhouses have been restored and refurbished. The houses enjoy a wonderful position on a sunny hill, surrounded by chestnut trees, in a quiet secluded place at the edges of an old hamlet called Guzzano. Guzzano is near Bagni di Lucca, which is a lovely spa-town 25 km from Lucca, 50km from Pisa and 85km from Florence. We have three villa units and a cottage for a maximum occupancy of 20 people. Casa Ciesa is a XVIII century country house divided into two units and Il Castello is a stand alone cottage. All units can be rented separately or together for large groups and families. No details have been spared – exposed beams, original terracotta tiles pavements and typical Tuscan rural furniture are among examples together with all the features of a modern villa in Tuscany. |

Details on the area surrounding the property/accommodation |
|
| |
Bagni di Lucca (at 5 km), is a nice tourist resort, where you will find general stores, shops, and sport centers and a beautiful spa which is well known for its popularity with the likes of Byron and Shelley. Traces of this glorious past are to be found in its monuments: the English Church, the Catene bridge, the Spa, the villas, the Casino, etc. The town has many great trattorias, where you can taste the traditional cuisine. Enjoy beautiful walks, bicycle or horse rides on the hills around the property. Nearby, Borgo a Mozzano and the Maddalena bridge, better known as the Devil’s bridge, the little canyon Orrido di Botri, the Garfagnana villages, Barga with its typical historical centre, Coreglia Antelminelli and its Museum of Plaster Figures and Emigration are just a few of the places worth a visit. Lucca (25 km), Pisa (50km) and the close Tyrrhenian coast, (or Versilia-Viareggio beaches, 40km) offer further opportunities for food, culture and activity! |

This is a beautiful property in a beautiful area! We stayed here in October 2008. It was a great way to savor the experience of the Tuscan countryside. The owner is lovely, always willing to do whatever is needed for the comfort of her guests. I highly recommend staying here!
