General Info |
|
| |
This antique complex dates back almost a thousand years to when it was a castle. Restored to a very high standard it is run personally by the owners who are always on hand to ensure that you make the most out of your stay. There are never more than 10 guests on the property at any one time and children should be over 14. It is an ideal place for couples and a romantic honeymoon! Cellole is excellently placed approximately half way between Florence and Siena and about half an hour's drive to both. Lucca and Pisa are an hour away whilst S.Gimignano, Certaldo Alto and Colle Vald’Elsa, to name but a few of the smaller jewels of Tuscany, are nearby, making this an ideal centre for art and history lovers. Good food and wine connoisseurs will not be disappointed as there are numerous restaurants in the area, the nearest being just ten minutes away at Tavarnelle Val di Pesa. Not your average villa in Tuscany! |

What visitors have said about Castellare di Cellole - Cottage Murlo |
| |
| |
I keep meaning to write to you to tell you what an outstanding time we had with you at Cellole. We especially enjoyed getting to know you and Mauro and our conversations while sipping wine on the patio. I think Chuck would give anything to hop on a plane and follow Mauro around the olive grove on a small tractor doing handy work on the property. For me it would be gardening and cooking and exploring more of the countryside. Your place is terrific and being treated to a look at the "church" was definitely the highlight of the visit ... if not our whole trip. We have told so many people about it. I actually have your post card on my desk. Whenever I need to escape my return to reality I take a look at it!!! We look forward to the day we can return.

Just wanted to say thanks for all your help, and goodbye properly as I didn't get the chance when we left early last Saturday. Zoe and I have had the most amazing honeymoon and staying with you was easily the best choice we could have made. It was perfection. Thanks again and we hope to come back one day soon.

We had a wonderful time on our holiday and are desperately trying to hold the wonderful scenery and feeling within to prolong it as long as we can. Our experience of Tuscany was fabulous.

We have all returned safely and plunged back into our real lives. All three of us felt that our time at your place was the most enjoyable part of the trip. Peggy said that she would have been happy spending all three weeks of our trip there! Hopefully, we will be able to return at another time. Hope all is well with you and thank you, again, for everything.

We have arrived safely in France. Looking back on our trip to Toscane we only can thank you so very much for the lovely time we spent with you. The house with its great atmosphere, all the work you have done to it - it was all worth it! We felt like we had our own Castello without doing the work for it. We appreciated that you took the time to recommend the beautiful sites, where to park, how to drive. The outlets we keep for the next time. Once again, our great thanks for the wonderful time we spent with you in the Castello. Kind regards to your husband.

Mary and I returned home safe and sound on Friday, and are missing Tuscany and you and your husband's hospitality. We had a very delightful stay and developed many good memories - and hopefully a future friendship. We look forward to returning - with some family. Sorry we could not say goodbye personally. You had a busy evening. We did have an opportunity to greet your husband that morning of our departure - and say goodbye to Bernie. Thanks, again, for the invite to the piano concert on our last evening in "la bella Tuscana". Arrivederci and ciao.

Donna and I really appreciate everything that you did to make us feel at home in your beautiful villa. The tour of Cellole was definitely the highpoint of our visit for both Donna and I. We hope to see you again either in Italy or possibly here in the States!
