If you can tear yourself away from the peace of Villa Suk, a couple of miles away is the town of Taormina, the "Pearl of the Mediterranean”, easily reachable with the help of a cable car located 15 minutes walk away. Centre of attraction is the splendid Greco-Roman amphitheatre, spectacularly set with panoramic views across the beautiful blue bay with Mount Etna brooding in the background. Beautifully restored mediaeval buildings, breathtaking views around every corner and a giddy network of winding streets strewn with designer boutiques, romantic candlelit bars and sparkling restaurants make for a perfect holiday spot. Taormina is ideally located to easily reach most parts of Sicily including Mount Etna volcano, the Aeolian Islands, the UNESCO-protected baroque towns of Modica, Ragusa and Noto, the medieval village of Castelmola, Siracusa and its historical centre Ortigia, Villa Romana with its mosaics, Agrigento with its Greek temples… thousands of years of history in one island! |

The villa is on three levels: enter the front door to the main living area, with stylish sitting and dining areas, and access to the garden. Off this living area is a small but fully equipped kitchen (fridge, freezer, cooker, oven, kettle, toaster, dishwasher, etc). Some spiral stairs take you to the first floor which is home to two double bedrooms with queen size bed and a bathroom with shower. The bedrooms share a balcony with spectacular views of the ocean. A couple of steps lead up to a separate unit which is home to a third double bedroom with queen size bed and en-suite bathroom (with shower), and to a small roof terrace with sun all day long. The atmosphere and decoration throughout are warm and simple with a retro style and original use of colour. Thanks to its peculiar setting (the complex is entirely built against the rock), the villa is extremely cool and you will hardly use the air conditioning, even in the peak of summer (July and August).

The private garden is ideal for those seeking peace and privacy while enjoying the most breathtaking view imaginable. Filled with beautiful Mediterranean plants and flowers, it offers great al fresco dining options, sunlit breakfast spots and peaceful reading corners. The views are simply spectacular: the vastness of the blue sea and Isola Bella bay, an unforgettable scenery. The complex saltwater pool is dramatically located on the cliff edge with breathtaking views of Isola Bella bay. From inside the pool (open from mid-May to mid-October), one really has the sensation of hanging directly above the sea. An elevator takes you through 50m of solid rock to the spectacular rocky shore where you can sunbath or swim in the emerald blue-green waters, while the crystal clear waters of the surrounding grottoes provide ideal conditions for snorkelling and scuba diving. Although the private beach and pool can get quite busy in July and August, they remain extremely quiet during other periods.

"Unmatched for a spectacular view, the Villa Suk is a comfortable and well-situated apartment just below the beautiful town of Taormina"

Thank you for making our stay in Taormina so easy! The villa exceeded our expectations for our first holiday with small children. It was very convenient for the nearby beaches and shops which we were able to walk to with a baby in a buggy and a 2 year old with no problem. The space downstairs and outside was much appreciated by both children for running and crawling around, and the view from the garden and upstairs bedrooms was spectacular and very restful. We so enjoyed snorkeling around the coast below and near the villa, and the little ones really enjoyed playing on the beaches and eating at the beach restaurant at Isola Bella which is so friendly. The situation of the villa was great for access without car to beaches, shops, and to Taormina with the cable car, and we were able to get the latest UK papers 100 metres away at the Hotel Capotaormina - PERFECT!

We spent one truly memorable week in Villa Suk, which in a few words was truly stunning. From the outset, Francesco was more than helpful, promptly answering all our queries as well as giving great recommendations on what to do and see in the area. The villa itself was beautiful with three spacious bedrooms, kitchen and large living area, catering for all our needs. The garden provided perfect stage for barbequed dinners and fabulous sunsets. We can only recommend Villa Suk as the perfect holiday destination with a group of friends. We are certainly looking forward to returning next year.

An idyllic setting with truly the most beautiful views imaginable. We stayed in mid September and had the pool pretty much to ourselves. It was peaceful and relaxing. The villa is spacious and the kitchen well stocked; a home from home. The little town is about 15 minutes away but you soon get used to the walk and it helps to burn off all the extra calories. And the cable car to Taormina is very quick. The beach is great with nice places to eat and the snorkelling is brilliant; such clear water. I would return in an instant.

Just a line to let you know we had a wonderful time at your villa. The house and pool and views are amazing, with fantastic weather and great facilities you don't need more to have fun. Renting a scooter gives you the advantage of being able to go almost anywhere, sometimes in Taormina it is not easy to park your car. Try a "granita" for breakfast, the best ones in Sicily are made here!

One of the most beautiful places on earth! We spent 10 days of our honeymoon here. What a romantic place. Beautiful retro styling - but with all mod. cons. Secluded - but everything close at hand. The view from the Villa Suk's terrace of Isola Bella island is to die for! No wonder it is WWF protected - it's magnificent. We were there in September and had the pool to ourselves - fantastic. Taormina, just 5 mins away by car, is quite an extraordinary place. Great restaurants, shops and people watching set in a World Heritage Site. Cool and trendy pubs & clubs for all budgets & ages. Villa Suk is great for watching the cruise liners & million £ + yachts sailing round the bay. We're going back this year in September - can't wait and we think that's the best testimonial of all!

Fantastic place, absolutely stunning! Villa Suk is one of the most beautiful resorts I have ever been for my holidays. The location is incredible: it is hard to believe that there are places like that in the world! You go down in the heart of a cliff and inside you find that beautiful villa, facing the bay of Isola Bella: the most breathtaking view! The garden, which in fact is a balcony on the blue Sicilian sea, is fantastic for sun-bathing during the day and nice dinners with friends at night. Everything in Villa Suk, the furniture, the perfume of the sea and of the orange tree, the light evening breeze, make the atmosphere so relaxing, that once you are there you don't want to go anywhere else. Villa Suk is the ideal place to escape and forget the every-day life. Taormina, then, is a tiny jewel and is at a walking distance from the Villa: perfect to enjoy the Mediterranean night life!

"Villa SUK in Taormina is a perfect base camp for hiking around Mount Etna, visiting historic places and at the end of the day sitting in the garden overlooking the marvellous Isola Bella Bay and tasting a drink. Our 6 teenagers particularly appreciated the pool and the rocky shores of the complex for snorkeling. Nobody get bored at this places".
Georges H., Switzerland, Oct 2009

"We really enjoyed our stay at your villa, it is in such a beautiful location. We were extremely reluctant to leave!"
