What visitors have said about La Cerra

We stayed at La Cerra for two nights, and we wished we stayed for two weeks (actually two other couples staying there were doing exactly this - two week stay). The farm is strategically located right at the middle of Northern Sardinia. To get to interesting places on the east - Sassari, Alghero, Neptune caves, Bosa, or on the west - Costa Smeralda, Palau, Maddalena archipelago, Santa Teresa (and onto Corsica) - is all within 1 hour drive, and wonderful beaches of the Northern Sardinia are just 20 min away. Everything was right on the far. It is not exactly a bed-and-breakfast, it is rather an agriturismo, i.e., a working farm with accommodations and restaurant. The hospitality of Alberto, the owner, makes you feel immediately at home. The farm is located right at the Monte Pulciano mountain, there is a lot of hiking that can be done without driving anywhere. Alberto leads hiking trip to the top of the mountain. He offers advise on places to visit, maps, restaurants, etc. It does not make sense to have dinners somewhere outside: the quality of the homemade food at the farm’s restaurant is outstanding! The meats, the cheeses, fresh ricotta with honey, the Gallurese soup….- all was so wonderful and fresh, you would not find it in any restaurant. Add to it homemade wine, made by the chef of the restaurant in his winery, and the ambiance of the restaurant where guests sit in groups and share their travel stories, and it all becomes unforgettable and charming experience. And the price is unbeatable: when we stayed, the half-board (i.e., breakfast and dinner, and wine included) was $140 per night for the couple. Compare it to fully artificial Costa Smeralda with hotel rooms at above a thousand dollars a day. Highly recommended to everybody who wants a combination of relaxing vacation with sightseeing of beautiful Sardinia

Large very comfortable rooms, beautiful, wild scenery, excellent home-made food and above all the warmest of welcomes from Alberto. The region is full of things to see - Nuraghi and chapels galore - plus hiking and the sea not far. As a man who loves his region, Alberto is always ready to to advise. Grazie, Alberto, di aver sopportato il mio cattivo italiano.
