In the grounds there is a beautiful roman style salt water swimming pool, temple and sunken Jacuzzi. The south facing patio area is situated at the front of the Villa, and to the rear of the villa is a shaded patio, where fresh bread and pizzas are baked, and where you can dine al fresco when the weather allows (with the emphasis on local organic recipes). The swimming pool is but a few short steps from the Villa, entered through a stunning Bougainvillea and Jasmine covered colonnade, which in the evening is subtly lit adding to the general ambience. The Romanesque style pool is a generous 6 x 14 metres, lined in beautiful blue Italian mosaics. For those who wish to use the Spa just walk up into the temple area and enjoy; it is here also that pre-booked massages take place.

Further Details |
Puglia is a fantastic tapestry of differing cultures- the Greeks, Arabs, Byzantiums and
Normans to name but a few have all left their influence in this far, south-eastern part of Italy.
The colonisations have made Puglia what it is today - a unique mix of cuisine, cultures and architecture. It is often said that the people are what makes Puglia - “they smile like the sun” and whilst this is very true, Puglia would not be the same without its “White City” at Ostuni, its Roman and Baroque architecture in Lecce, wonderful castles at Oria, Otranto and Taranto, the stunning ‘Trulli’ at Alberobello, the beautiful town of Martina Franca, everywhere you go there is
something different and interesting to see and explore. Every small town seems to have a historical heart- its own ‘centro storico‘. Whether you chose to visit Puglia for the first time or are a returning visitor you will find plenty to discover; a variety of local markets; characteristic little known villages; the varied countryside and the coastline, either the Adriatic coast or the little known Ionian coastline with its beautiful sandy beaches.

My husband and I arrived from London exhausted and in much need of peace, tranquility, good food "far from the madding crown". Villa Magnolia delivers on all counts and then some! Ron and Lesley have painstakingly restored this beautiful country house into a very stylish 4 roomed boutique hotel. All the rooms lead off of the main very grand hallway. The clever mix of antique furniture and gorgeous contemporary bathrooms, together with many of the original features makes this house very unique. We stayed in the "Honeymoon Suite" which is just lovely. The private patio area, just outside our bedroom, is encased by a trellis wall with white jasmine cascading down the sides. The smell in the morning when you open the doors in just stunning. The house itself sits in 7 acres of land which has an abundance of olive, almond and fig trees growing. The pool and pool area that Ron has designed and built has to be seen to be believed, it is quite simply beautiful. I don't want to say anymore as it will spoil the surprise (pictures would not do it justice). Ron and Lesley also grow their own organic vegetables and salad which Lesley puts to great use in the evenings for dinner. Lesley is a great cook and even makes her own hooch which she has aptly named "Leslie's Luscious Limoncello". We spent many an evening under the stars putting the world to rights and giggling into the wee hours. Everyone should take home a bottle! Villa Magnolia delivers on so many levels. If you come in search of some quiet time in a beautiful location with excellent food and wine this is the place for you. The nearby towns and villages are architecturally beautiful and have some really good restaurants, offering the very best in fresh rustic Italian cuisine. Ron and Lesley are fantastic hosts and deserve to do well. I have a few words of advice - book now before the secret is out!
