What visitors have said about Relais Villa Giulia

Coming to Villa Giulia is like being received by very good friends. The Villa, the garden and the setting are unique. Luxury is defined in a very grounded way without any chi chi. A gorgeous spot in the marvellous Marche. We have enjoyed the quietness and the authentic charm for many years. Perfect for travellers who look for absolute individuality and peacefulness, rather than a posh place.
Duggster,  Basel, Switzerland,  Oct 2010

The Villa Giulia is truly a jewel! We felt like Lord and Lady of the Manor in the elegantly furnished rooms. It is not inexpensive, but it is a real treat for all the senses. The food is excellent, and the hosts quite friendly and helpful. The weather in the latter part of September is ideal for visiting the local wineries and hill towns in the Marche.
The Wanderers,  Colorado, USA,  Sep 2010

We stayed in one of the apartments on the property for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. The estate and villa are very charming and the staff was wonderful. The two bedroom apartment was very comfortable for our group of four and nicely furnished. The location is great for exploring the Marche and the beautiful nearby town of Urbino.
Margareth,  Chicago, USA,  Aug 2010

Villa Giulia and its staff are absolutely wonderful. The Villa is situated in parklike surroundings with an olive grove and its own pool overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Service is impeccable and very friendly. We have stayed there twice and will definitely be back!

My husband & I stayed in one of the converted out buildings in the grounds of this beautiful villa. On entering the villa we were greeted by Spritz the very friendly labrador & then by Anna (the owner), who is very charming & helpful & made us feel immediately at home with a lovely glass of chilled prosecco. Our apartment was simply & very tastefully furnished in a shabby/chic style with a very well designed mini kitchen. We had breakfast & dinner in the garden in the main house - lovely & very relaxed & very beautiful. Almo (Anna's son) was the perfect host & very friendly & chatty. There are so many beautiful patios to sit on we were spoilt for choice. The swimming pool is in the grounds of the house & is lovely & clean & big & the same depth throughout. There are very good sun loungers with small canopies to shade your head & parasols & trees around the edges of the pool. We hired bicyles from the Hotel one afternoon & went for a trip in the beautiful countryside. If you are looking for a sleek, modern, sophisticated hotel, this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for a relaxed & charming family hotel, with a lot of history, full of antiques, Villa Giulia is perfect. We had a wonderful time.

If you need a special place after a hard year of work, Villa Giulia for us is the place to be. In 2009 and 2010 it was the start of our holidays and for sure more years will follow.
Tonio077,  Purmerend, The Netherlands,  Jun 2010

Anna and her family made our stay in their home truly special, the rooms were beautiful, the food delicious but above all the staff were just so accommodating, nothing seemed to be a trouble; a late breakfast, an early supper, eating with the children, sneaky bits of cake for everyone after a day's sightseeing...the list is endless! We would thoroughly recommend Relais Villa Giulia to you all.
Lorna,  London, UK,  Jun 2009

Villa Giulia is a perfectly tasteful home. Dinners on the terrace were very good and pleasant. Relaxed atmosphere. Easy going contact with other guests and Anna Passi and her team. Beautiful room with perfect sea and country views and dreamlike bathroom. I like the old family style but not overdone interior design.
Tjep van Voorst Vader,  Amsterdam, The Netherlands,  Aug 2010

I wish that we had had more time to pass at Villa Giulia; our four day stay was just not enough to fully enjoy this charming B+B. This country seat, located in the hills above the town of Fano with views of the Adriatic Sea, is a laid-back and peaceful spot, a destination in its own right, really. I loved this place and its owner Anna, contessa Passi (see photo), whose family has owned the estate since 1892. The main house is filled with family photos and heirlooms, lending a warm and cosy atmosphere all around. There are three, well-mannered dogs, Elsa, Lola and Spitz, who have the run of the place; they add to the family-like warmth around Villa Giulia. There is even a small chapel, where I was told a wedding was held a few days before we got there. Anna and her staff have created a peaceful, relaxed oasis. The staff (including Anna’s lovely daughter Mila) is very attentive; I had an e-mail correspondence with Anna that proved to be most helpful before our arrival. I even had some clothes laundered; they were perfectly washed, folded and delivered to our room in a day’s time. Our room, No. 3, was located in the nearby guest annex, not the main house. The spacious and fancifully frescoed room (see photos) was a joy to return home to each day. The south-facing window looked out over the rolling hills and the sea (see photo). The room was clean and comfortable; the bathroom too was clean, tidy and efficient. A good night’s sleep was easy enough on the comfortable mattress of the metal post bed. A built-in wooden wardrobe offered both shelving and a hanging rod for clothes. Breakfast, included in the room rate, was laid out in the octagon-shaped dining room; and we took our morning meal just outside the doors in the garden. The wide-ranging breakfast offerings included fresh fruit and yogurt, cereals and breads and breakfast tarts, prosciutto and eggs. The coffee was great. The friendly atmosphere at Villa Giulia helps guests get to know each other; breakfast is the perfect opportunity to do this. Guests come from many parts to enjoy this perfect spot; everyone shared plans for day and what they had already done. Dinner is also available; to be included, check with the staff. We enjoyed a fine meal here the first night of our stay. Stroll around the grounds; there are many acres to explore (see photo). I liked the olive groves. There is a swimming pool; but in early June it was never hot enough for us to take a dip, but some guests did, so bring your bathing suit. A wide, long, sheltered terrace overlooks the hills; here, lounge chairs and settees are arranged around tables for drinks, conversation and relaxing. Yes, relaxing, that is the perfect word to describe Villa Giulia. Friendly, too. This is the country. Relax. Enjoy. Make new friends. This is the ideal spot for it!

My husband and I try to travel to Italy once a year. Whenever possible, we try to stay at Villa Giulia in Fano. Anna and her family have made us feel incredibly welcome and comfortable. The Villa and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. Every room is special and tastefully decorated. I highly recommend the dinners which are served on the terrace overlooking the gardens - the food and wine are outstanding. And if I start to miss my dogs, there are always a few around to make me feel at home. I look forward to returning and know we will continue to stay at Villa Giulia for years to come.
CwynarSF,  San Francisco, USA,  Jul 2009

We stayed 4 nights at the Villa Giulia, and found everyone there to be warm and hospitable. We had a room without a view, but we spent most of our time on the villa's terrace, where the views were gorgeous. When we weren't on the terrace, we were at the pool, which is also quiet and relaxing. Finally, the food was amazing - fresh and delicious, like the best home-cooked meal. We had a fantastic outdoor lunch on arrival, which the staff prepared for us even though the kitchen was closing. What we enjoyed most of all was the way the villa was set back and away from the town - close enough to get to restaurants by car in about five minutes, but far enough away to be able to take in the gorgeous countryside fields, as well as a view of the ocean and town down below. A peaceful, relaxing time. Another bonus was free wifi on the terrace.

Villa Giulia is beautiful. It was truly one of the most wonderful stays I have ever had. Views from the property and the surrounding gardens and terraces are amazing. We had dinner there each night and completely enjoyed the organic produce, local fish, cheeses and wines from the region. The family was gracious, and I truly hope to be back someday soon.
Janet0327,  New York, USA,  Jul 2010

Country aspect, sea view, dinner if you wish, food excellent. Relaxed family feeling, comfortable and welcoming. May be best suited to those with a car, but we came by train & just lounged around reading and strolling in the garden; taxi to & from Fano; from Fano easy to explore e.g. to Urbino

This was our fourth stay at the Villa Giulia. I can think of no better place to go to to relax in such charming surroundings. We have stayed in several of the apartments and they were all equally comfortable and each decorated in their own style. The grounds of the Villa are the perfect place to relax, go for a walk or just enjoy the stunning views. Anna and her staff are extremely helpful and accommodating. We are looking forward to returning!

Everything was perfect... the people, the rooms, the grounds, the food and the wine! The host, Anna, and her sons made us feel welcomed from the minute we arrived until the day we left... the Villa is only minutes from town and a great place to sit back and relax after a long day... Thank you Anna, we will be back!
rickj_9,  Ottawa,  Jun 2009

We stayed here for two nights in a ground floor junior suite. Everything about the place appealed to us from the warmth of the welcome, to the attractive additional furnishings of the room, the excellent air conditioning, the gorgeous grounds and swimming pool and the good buffet breakfast and evening meal. I even availed of an Ayurvedic massage arranged with a local masseuse. I would recommend this for a longer stay of 5 nights to get the best value out of the hotel and the surrounding area including the attractive small town of Fano nearby.
Julieon,  Dublin, Ireland,  Jul 2009

As my family is from this part of Italy, I have made many trips over the years to this region, and I usually stay at one of the beach front hotels or with relatives. But I am very pleased that this year I tried something different, and based on the reviews in Trip Advisor, I booked the Villa Giulia. What a gem of a find! This is a beautiful historic villa, full of old-world charm and atmosphere, and furnished with wonderful antiques and situated in very pleasant gardens with views over the Adriatic. We stayed in a Jr. Suite, called the Vicerè Suite, which had a very large bedroom with king size bed, and an absolutely massive bathroom, about the same size as the bedroom! Both rooms had big shuttered windows overlooking the Adriatic and Garden. This year I hosted a dinner for some of my Italian relatives and thought the Villa Giulia would be a perfect venue to hold such a dinner. Together with the proprietor, Signora Anna Passi, we planned a magnificent seafood dinner for 20 people, starting with an apperitivo on the terrace with water views, then we moved to the Villa's dining room for a veritable feast consisting of Antipasto, a pasta with seafood, at least 6 different types of fish and shellfish cooked in a variety of ways including over a charcoal fire, desserts, coffees and liquors. The meal was excellent and all my relatives were suitably impressed. The only problem is that no one wanted to leave, and at 1:30am they had to be chased away!! Breakfast was served in the beautiful garden, with a very comprehensive buffet set out in the dining room. This was a great location to start the day. I should also mention that there is a large swimming pool at the Villa but we never had time to make it there. I should add that this is a very laid-back country guest house, so don't expect 24 hour room service and a polished concierge in crisp uniform on 24 hour call! It is often very difficult to find anyone! The only surprise was that even with a 5 night stay our linen was not changed once, although we received fresh towels from time to time, but not every day. But this never really mattered as we wanted a relaxing holiday in a country guest house and the Villa Giulia certainly lived up to the images we had in mind. I would highly recommend this Villa for a wonderfully laid back visit to the Adriatic. As mentioned it certainly beats the rows and rows of mediocre hotels along the beach strip.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Villa Giulia - we enjoyed it so much the first time we had to return. The setting is wonderful, the staff are wonderful - it's like being at home. It's nice to meet the other guests in a casual and informal way and form new friendships. The Villa itself is an interesting treasure trove of the history of the owner's family and the owner Anna is patiently restoring the house to it's former glory- each room in the Villa is an individual masterpiece. The surrounding towns and countryside are well worth a visit as are the beach and the sea. No doubt we will return for another visit.

Fabrian,  Venezia, Italy,  Sep 2010

I traveled to Villa Giulia in April with my friends and encountered a place that was so beautiful it blew my mind. Nestled in the verdant hills of the Italian countryside, we found ourselves in a peaceful quiet setting where all our concerns and worries seemed to evaporate into the ether. The staff was really friendly and kind and the rooms were also great. Many of the rooms in the large villa had accurate, detailed paintings of natural settings which seemed to be a delight to fall asleep to. Also, nestled around the property were old-style beautiful Italian houses where guests could stay, such as me and my companions. A great deal of history seemed to be in the place as the furniture and portraits had an aura of many generations of events. Also another great sight we saw there was a garden that had a view of the sea in the distance and to get to it you had to pass a small gate which had countless purple flowers hanging overhead. Beautiful bamboo swayed in the gentle breeze all around. So quiet, so peaceful, so beautiful, it was an amazing experience that me and my friends hope to share again someday.

If you are looking for a place to dissolve your soul into nature, and enjoy the peace and silence of nature along with the company and hospitality of a kind, generous, warm hearted family, take this once in a lifetime chance! To be honest, the experience of being there can only be described by your presence, that's my personal opinion!

You will be left utterly impressed and completely relaxed after visiting Villa Giulia. From the picturesque views of sea and hills to the charming and elegant ambience that embraces the entire property, you will find yourself swept away and not wanting to leave.
BolognaCia,  Bologna, Italy,  May 2009

For my job I travel a lot, 4/5 star hotels, villas etc, but Villa Giulia isn't a hotel it is an experience. In this warm and quiet place you can breathe slowly, you can read an old book with a new soul, while the time runs out. Unfortunately I spent little time there but they were 2 special days. Thank you Anna.
Fantomas1,  Milano, Italy,  Mar 2008

Words inadequately express how much I enjoyed my stay at Villa Giulia. The Villa is not only beautiful and fascinating to explore but relaxing and everyone is so friendly and helpful. Did I mention the rooms are charming and very comfortable and breakfast was a treat to look forward to each day? Thanks to all at Villa Giulia for this experience and I know that a return visit is definitely in my plans.

Coming to Villa Giulia is like entering a different world: a world of beauty and harmony, of sweetness and peace, where one could to stay forever... We thank our dear hosts for their warm and gracious hospitality and for making us feel like real guests of the family. We are very sad to leave but we'll come back next year. Arrivederci!
A Tripadvisor member,  Somerset, UK,  Aug 2005

We had a great time in Villa Giulia. It was very quiet season, but nature even then seemed to be very beautiful: a lot of flowers, greens and fresh air from the sea. It is not so far from the ancient city. You can go on the beach whenever you want (10 minute walk).
Aleshenka,  Italy,  May 2009

Arriving at Villa Giulia, one is not greeted by the ostentatious and often gaudy luxury of fancy hotel chains but a quiet simplicity, which I love. Coming from the city of Bologna, I had wanted to get away from the bustle of city life and the villa was exactly what I had been looking for. The surrounding nature - the olive trees, the quaint vineyard and even the bushes of rosemary - overwhelmed and complimented to a tee the rustic architecture and flavor of the place. Given the proximity of nature, it was inevitable that nature occasionally found it's way into the bedroom but, for me, it added to the beauty and appeal of the place. Another plus was the beach, which was just a stone's throw away.

My husband and I stayed at Villa Giulia in September 08, and it's one of the places that we would gladly go back to. Anna is a fabulous host, patiently answering all possible questions and making you feel like a very welcome guest in this historic villa. We intended to stay one night as were on a tight schedule but ended up staying an extra night just because it was so beautiful and relaxing. Anna recommended a couple of restaurants in town which were great. This place was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Northern Italy because it was so enjoyable and the hospitality so warm. A couple of things to note - you need a car as this Villa is 10 min drive from Fano and to get back and forth from the town or the beach a car is convenient. They do have bikes you can borrow as well. As far as I remember there is no dinner served so you have to go into Fano, the breakfast served though was delicious. All the rooms are different, some have stairs to climb to get to the bathroom so definitely get a detailed description of the room you book. We'll definitely make a trip back to Villa Guilia someday.

The Villa Giulia is a place to have very nice holidays, it's a charming old villa with the original furnitures. It's the perfect place to relax with loving people, the rooms are in a very romantic style, cozy and warm. The hospitality of the owners Anna and Stefano is incredible, both of them open and friendly, it's a pleasure to talk to them and it creates an atmosphere as if you are in another surrounding, more anonymous. The view from the Villa to the Adriatic sea is marvellous, but at the same time you are in a protected surrounding.

Villa Giulia!! We just returned from a week in the Marche region of Italy. We were blessed to have been able to spend several days at the beautiful Villa Giulia!! The Villa sits atop a hill overlooking the sea with the most spectacular views of the city of Fano and the Adriatic!! Anna Passi, the owner of the villa and our hostess, met us at the door of her beautiful home, offered us a glass of local wine w/snacks, and then showed us to our beautiful, comfortable, room overlooking the sea. Ms. Passi then suggested a lovely restaurant in Fano for us to have dinner that evening and promptly made a reservation. Following Ms. Passi's suggestions each day, the local markets, restaurants and local wines, and places to visit (Ravenna, San Marino, San Leo, Urbino, and Gradara) all proved to be fabulous. The terrace at Villa Giulia, which overlooks the Adriatic and the villa's vineyard, was wonderful for lunch, al fresco dinner, or just a glass of local wine watching the sun go down. What a fabulous vacation spot!!! Villa Giulia in the Marche region of Italy, with Anna Passi as your incredible hostess!!!! A true slice of Heaven. We can only pray to return soon!!!

While driving through Italy, this past April, I was looking through a hotel guide, to find a place to stay. That is, when I fell upon this gem! I was pleasantly surprised by what this villa-hotel had to offer this hard to please traveller. The Villa Gulia is truly remarkable! The atmosphere, the location and decor are true reminders of Napolean times, from when it originates. If you have a nack for details, large beds, well kept and perfectly lit rooms, you've come to the right place! We were absolutely charmed by the wonderful staff. The minute we arrived, which was dinner time, we were offered a glass of wine and were encouraged to roam and become comfortable. Breakfast and dinner were delectable and the food simply delicious, therefore making our dining experiences one of the highlights of the place!! (There also existed an interesting and wide selection of wine, from the region). Thankfully, such places exist and make us enjoy travelling! ! ! Liked — the atmosphere the hospitality of the staff and the dining experience Disliked — I can't think of anything

Sophie & I stayed for just 3 nights in a standard room as this was all that was available at short notice. Our welcome was genuine and our room was perfect with a lovely view over rolling countryside. A fridge full of water in the corridor to keep refreshed and a fantastic bar where we just wrote down what we had. Great trust, respect and simplicity shown in these touches. A fantastic breakfast was served by the lovely Patricia. And if you choose you can stay for dinner. A set menu created nightly by Anna & her staff. The Villa grounds are very relaxing and nothing is forced. Lots of quiet places to sit and enjoy the tranquility, whatever the weather. The ambience reflects the simple splendour of a bygone era, though extremely well maintained. All the staff are attentive and friendly. And as it was still school/college holidays, some of our wonderful hostess Anna's children were present to chat and befriend us. The lovely dogs are most entertaining. The pool is great. And ultimately it is difficult to fault Villa Giulia on anything. 10 out of 10 and we can't wait to return for a longer stay. It's like staying with old friends if you wish, or you can keep to yourself no problem. Note: you will need a car to get around as it's a bit out of town. On a hill overlooking the small city of Fano, surrounded by ancient olive trees and a woodland, Villa Giulia was the perfect place to avoid the summer crowds for a few days in the middle of August. Even the torrential rain added to its charms: the perfume of the trees, the clear view of the sea and the fresh air. However, what makes Villa Giulia a special place is the informal, welcoming, yet stylish atmosphere that the owner and her staff have created: a house that makes you feel at home. It is an ideal place for a romantic retreat, for exploring the beauties (do not forget the food and wine) of the little-known region of Marche, and also a perfect place to find the physical and mental space to think and write. I cannot wait to return to start the day having breakfast in the garden, reading the newspaper on the belvedere, walking in the grounds, and eating the fantastic dinners. And of course to do some writing... When time flows slowly, you can easily find a long calm spell and float with it. Thank you Anna for extending the peace, the quiet, and the warmth of a home. See you very soon. Liked — The atmosphere and the location Disliked — N/A

The Villa Giulia is located in Fano, Italy, on the Adriatic Coast. Many guest rooms have a great view of the Adriatic. The Villa's homey atmosphere, caring staff and overall ambience make it a sure bet for a wonderful vacation. I have now stayed here twice and I am sure that I will return again. The grounds are terrific, the buildings are rustic yet very comfortable. Make sure to visit the in-house chapel, and see the Mt. Blanc Assention certificate. Countess Julia Ferri was the first woman to climb Mt. Blanc in 1888. Everywhere you turn there is something interesting to see. Innkeeper Anna Passi sets the tone for the staff and operations. Where else do you get a hug from the staff? Anna's warmth, sincerity and charm are all transcended to the entire staff. The kitchen is usually open for a tour or simply to hang out and watch the chef and her staff prepare delicious meals. Speaking of which...the breakfasts are special and after that...who could want lunch? The chef and her staff will prepare custom meals, just order early in the day so they can shop and prepare it properly. The service is excellent without going overboard. The staff is attentive but not bothersome. Make sure to say hello to my doggie pal SPRITZ. I have stayed in "Five Star" hotels in Europe and America and frankly, The Villa Giulia outshines them all. It captures the old world charm while providing today's modern conveniences. LISTEN to me on this one...stay at The Villa Giulia and you will not be disappointed. Liked — Friendly Caring staff. Disliked — Nothing=It was GREAT!

This is a hotel with a small number of rooms combined with a small number of self catering cottages set in a vineyard and olive grove. It really is idyllic. It is quite small and there is a very friendly atmosphere created by the small team who look after you. They gave us lots of advice on where to find local produce - wine and olive oil. Swimming in the pool in the middle of an olive grove was definitely unique! Would recommend this to anyone - it's the sort of place to take lots of books to while the kids enjoy themselves in the pool

Stayed in the Villa in a self service apartment for a week commencing Sept 07. The complex is a mix of rooms in the main building - outlying cottage style apartments etc. Anna, the owner is really charming and the staff were just great. Dogs and cats everywhere which was great. Apartment was antique Italian style - no phones - no tv - definitely good if you want to get away from it all- the grounds are large with olive groves, vines, swimming pool etc. As a base for excursions around Fano - Rimini - Pesaro - hard to beat. Bit pricey at €160 (including wonderful buffet breakfast) a day but if you want a really special Villa experience I would really recommend it.

A fantastic place to stay on the outskirts of Fano. Mix of rooms in main house, cottages or self catering. Staff are lovely and everything is really relaxed and laid back - but it all works. Beautiful grounds and good views of the Adriatic. Breakfast and dinner in the garden a treat, food good too.

Villa Giulia is a gem. It sits on a small hill, overlooking the Adriatic. We stayed in the dependency in a large, well furnished room with an ocean view. We were greeted with great affability, offered a refreshing drink and shown around the extensive grounds. The villa is a gorgeous, comfortable Napoleonic era building with large doors opening onto a wide lawn. Food was well prepared and more than ample. We shall return! Carol L Liked — It is a graceful, old fashioned, quiet gem Disliked — I have to wait a year to return

It is a rare privilege to come across a magical place where you are treated both as royalty and family at the same time, but that is exactly what the Contessa Anna Passi offers at the Villa Giulia, her family’s former summer estate, now an elegant and yet very welcoming bed and breakfast. The house is in the Marche, along the Adriatic coast of Italy – an area rich in history and notable sites, like the great Renaissance town of Urbino and the independent Republic of San Marino. The rooms are all equipped with both the modern conveniences one expects from a four star resort, while filled with family heirlooms and personal touches that make you feel like you are one of the family. Each room has its own personality and character. A great variety of rooms are available to choose from as the property offers accommodations in the main house (from a cozy double bedroom to a selection of great suites), and the “Dependence” (a second building just fifty paces from the main house with group of large master bedrooms). Finally, there are two newly renovated farmhouses with apartments that include kitchens and all one needs to live independently, which are perfectly suited to families or those who wish to make the Villa their home for a few weeks, or longer stays. If there is one drawback, it is this: those used to air conditioning have only a few options, so be sure to book ahead if you want a room with a/c. Fans too are in limited supply. The location affords a magnificent view of Fano, a fascinating historic port town, amidst the olive grove from which the family still makes and bottles their own olive oil. Here too you will find a large swimming pool with plenty of room to swim laps while shallow enough for children to play in safely. The food is a highlight. Breakfast is a large, delicious affair with everything from freshly made cakes and tarts to a variety of cereals, fresh yogurt, fresh fruits, sliced meats and cheeses, as well as hot dishes, like omelettes and hot sausages. Served in the family dining room, one can choose to eat out on the veranda and enjoy the view of the ocean and the gardens. Each day brings its surprises. Dinners are a treat. Please be sure to book at least a day in advance, as the meals are prepared fresh and suited to the tastes, as well as the number, of the guests expected. Villa Giulia is the personification of charm and felicity and it is embodied in the very being of Contessa Passi, who will do everything she can to ensure your stay is all you expect and even more.

Villa Giulia is a fabulous place, but not for everyone. Located on a hill overlooking the Adriatic, it's a Napoleonic-era country house on a lot of acreage. The house is still run by the latest in the family, Countess Anna Passi, whose charm and warmth make you feel at home from the start. The rest of the staff is also gracious and helpful. The house is surrounded by olive groves and has a fine swimming pool. In the warm weather, doors are always open, and the four resident dogs will come have breakfast with you. This is one aspect of Europe that we love. Breakfast is full and excellent, and is served either inside or outside in the garden. We loved staying in the main house, but there are rooms in the carriage house that are more modern, and there is a separate house with apartments principally for families. In the main house, rooms vary greatly in size, and have original family pieces. For peace and quiet, you can't beat it. Lots of places to sit outside mean that you can imagine yourself back in the last century with Italian nobility on a summer holiday. For some, it will seem creaky and old, but for us it was perfect. Anna speaks excellent English, and the other staff members communicate very well. Villa Giulia is listed in Karen Brown's guides, so there are lots of Americans who go there. Summer is the busiest time, since Fano is a beach resort, but in mid-May we had the house to ourselves for several days.

If you want a taste of heaven stay at the Villa Giulia in the beautiful resort of Fano . The view is unbelievable and in the evenings the atmosphere on the terrace is the most romantic place on earth. There is a very accurate garden with plenty of mediterranean plants and olive trees. We found it on the internet and booked directly through their web site and found their rates to be very reasonable. The owner Mrs. Anna is a very charming lady who makes all her efforts to make your stay as memorable as possible. We stayed in one of the main villa's romantic rooms overlooking the Italian gardens and the room was just fabulous - the bathrooms are huge! Every detail is perfect and if you're looking for the perfect honeymoon destination then this has got to be it. We were surprised by the beauty of the town of Fano at just 5 minutes' drive, much less known than Rimini and Riccione but much nicer, a truly awesome small mediaeval Italian town. From here you can visit several wonderful places around including Umbria and Tuscany . I would recommend this relais and the resort of Fano to everyone travelling in the Italian Adriatic coast and ... grazie Mrs. Anna we miss you!!!!!

We had the most wonderful stay at the Villa Giulia. Everything from our apartment to the pool was perfect. We stayed for 10 days and we treated to anna and her familiy's wonderful hospitality. The terrace and honesty bar was a delightful place to spend the evenings and when wandering through the beautiful grounds, it felt like we were the only guests. Can't wait to return.

Anna was a great hostess. The apartment we rented was totally self suffiecient with a efficient kitchen and a new modern bathroom. The view out our window was of vineyards and the distant adriatic. We were out of season but the pool was only a short walk away and one could imagine how relaxing the setting could be among the vineyards. Anna was terrific in providing tips about the area and made reservations for us at a very local fish, very small restaurant. Fano is an interesting town with a flea market on Sunday's that was fun to visit. This area of Italy is not full of "touristy" spots but beautiful, friendly and relaxing.

"sweet, sunny and calm week end" Il Paesaggio: dolci colline verdi che si sciolgono fra cielo e mare. La Villa: un grande corpo stanco adagiato sul panoramico giardino. A volte succede di incontrare luoghi fermi nel tempo che per naturale armonia corrispondono esattamente alle persone che ci vivono. La Bellezza ci salverà...

"Most wonderful stay on our honeymoon!" Wow! There will be not enough space to write about how truly special Villa Giulia was to us on our Honeymoon. From the moment you walk in you feel like you are at a place more comfortable and serene than your home. Anna and the staff were very warm in their welcome and were the most genuine and friendliest people you could ever meet. They were very accommodating by providing us with a delicious italian dinner (the best we had in our three weeks in Italy). Just a short list of why Villa Giulia is brilliant: -the view of the rolling hills, vineyard, villa and sea is breathtaking -Anna's artwork in the rooms was beautiful and tranquil -the room was so cosy and relaxing -the garden was gorgeous and well maintained -Anna came and gave us some comfortable cushions to sit on while we were taking some time out to relax, drink some tea, read and look at the spectacular scenery -the villa even has it's own chapel -resident dogs are friendly and just seem to soak up the peacefulness and happiness of the whole place -breakfast was very satisfying -great food! We will be staying for a lot longer next time! We only stayed for one night and it was the best place we stayed on a long list of accommodation in Italy. We would stay for at least a week next time and recommend anyone to stay from at least two nights to even a month! If I had my way and could wish for anything it would be to live at Villa Giulia forever! Enjoy your stay!
