General Info |
|
| |
It offers luxury accommodation for family holidays, and provides the perfect setting for a romantic wedding or a special party. A lovely country house with its own small chapel, it is situated in a part of Italy in which you will see few tourists, and yet the countryside is some of the most beautiful in Italy. The Le Marche region is rich in art history, architecture and natural beauty, plus some excellent designer outlets for shoes and handbags! Surrounded by 360 degree panoramic views, from Santo Stefano it is possible to see the mountains to the south, and the sea to the north east. Situated down a well made country road, there is little around to disturb the peace of the area, other than the occasional sound of a tractor. It is believed that there has been a property on the site of Santo Stefano since Roman times. It was a small monastery during the 15th century. The small group of monks would have worshipped in the Chiesa, or chapel, which adjoins the property. |

Details on the area surrounding the property/accommodation |
|
| |
La Chiesa di Santo Stefano is situated in open countryside and the surrounding land is agricultural. From May to October the weather is usually warm and sunny, and from June to August there is little rain.
Le Marche has plenty to offer its visitors. Visit the famous Holy House at Loreto, or the incredible caves at Frasassi. Take a tour of the numerous vineyards in the area, or try one of the many first class restaurants. The Sibillini National Park is less than an hour away, as are the beautiful Adriatic.
During the summer, most of the local towns have festivals – everything from the world famous opera festival at nearby Macerata, to more local events with concerts in the piazza, artisan sales and unique balls games.

"Everything we could wish for all at our villa!"
The owners Sheila and John provided everything that we required or wished for throughout our stay. We were a large family group of all ages filling the villa to capacity. The villa was fantastic, everything the brochure photos promised and more. Even though there were 15 of us the property was large enough for us to spread out and enjoy our own space. The courtyard was perfect for meals altogether under the parasols. There were a few shady terraces under trees in a beautifully landscaped garden. The kidney shaped pool was set on a lower terrace to the villa so that it meant the courtyard area remained peaceful. The pool was perfect with plenty of sunloungers around it. John and Sheila were very hospitable and would sort out anything we required. The meals Sheila arranged were delicious. We would thoroughly recommend a stay here.

"Paradise, peace and tranquillity."
Standing proudly on a hill top, Santo Stefano looks out to the quaint town of Treia. With a 360 degree vista, this is Real Italy! I fell in love with Santo Stefano the moment that I set eyes on her. The interior compliments the beautiful exterior, with antiques and new furnishings blending seamlessly together. Every detail has been thoroughly thought out by the owners, who have provided every conceivable gadget and accessory for your needs and comfort. Nothing is too much trouble and friendly staff, are always at hand, though never intrusive. Mere words and photographs can not describe this villa's finest quality, which is the absolute calm and tranquillity the house and gardens bestow on you.100% satisfaction guaranteed. Live the dream!

"A quality villa in an ideal location”
First class attention to villa, facilities, guest support and local guidance by charming and hard working owners and staff. A quality and comprehensive restoration of a classic stone building and extensive grounds all offering plenty of house room, home comforts and equipment with numerous terraces, ample trees for shade and a delightfully located pool. Wonderful hilltop location with all around countryside views and convenient proximity to charming town of Treia. Space, peace and privacy and the fun of a 5 hole par 3 golf course.

"Absolutely superb...They certainly know what they are doing."
The service and hospitality we received from Sheila and John during our stay at La Chiesa di Santo Stefano was outstanding. Their property is beautiful, every detail is covered. We celebrated my partners 40th birthday during our stay, and we took 16 members of our family to celebrate with us. Sheila and John prepared and served the most wonderful birthday meal that we all will never forget, it was magical. The food, wine and service we received on that particular evening was fantastic, they are wonderful hosts. On my partners birthday we all flew to Rome for lunch, this was a birthday treat and was also arranged by Sheila and John via numerous emails. We have recommended Santo Stefano to many people, we will certainly be going back and possibly getting married there as the venue is beautiful, peaceful and idyllic. Sheila and John are very professional in how they run their business but also became very good friends after knowing them for one week, we did not want to leave. Try it...I guarantee you will love it!!!

La Chiesa di Santo Stefano has all the advantages of a luxurious villa combined with those of a boutique hotel: beautiful rooms, outstanding food and discrete and friendly people. We had a wonderful family holiday in this beautiful place and certainly plan to return soon.....before it becomes too popular!

"John and Sheila, you have created a “jewel on the hillside!” Everything about Santo Stefano suggests style and good taste. We always enjoyed returning to the villa after our day trips and wondered why we had bothered to leave, as everything we needed was already there! A big thank you to you and your staff. We shall return!"
