Apart from the glorious Italian weather, renaissance art & wonderful food, enjoy some of the most beautiful walking Italy has to offer, or just relax by the pool & soak up the beauty of the region. If you tire of the mountain views and hill top villages, you can head off to the Italian Riviera for the day. It takes about 50 mins to get there and once you have chosen your resort, be it San Benedetto or Porto Recanati, you can wallow in the warm sea, and eat copious amounts of sea food as you rest beneath the colourful umbrellas running along the beaches. There are some great restaurants and markets to be found in the region. On Wednesday mornings you can find local fresh fruit, veg and bric-a-brac in Amandola, and on Thursday morning a larger version of this in Sarnarno. There are plenty of restaurants serving delicious local food nearby. |

Casa Lola is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty close to the Sibillini national park. There is a lake at the bottom of our valley with a deer park close by. Many medieval hill top towns and villages dot the wonderful landscape and although not as rich in art as Tuscany there are many wonderful galleries and cities to be explored such as Ascoli Piceno. The walking is spectacular and local cuisine delicious. The 360 degree views from the house are amazing with distant sea views to the East & The magnificent Sibillini mountains to the West. Le Marche is a fabulously beautiful place, whatever the weather! |

There are fig, olive and fruit trees that guests are welcome to pick from and eat when ripe. Further Details |
For those of you that love walking, Casa Lola is on the edge of the Sibillini National Park & a short drive away there are some of the most beautiful treks be undertaken in Italy. Possibly the most famous is the journey up to Lago di Pilato (it is said that Pontius Pilate is buried here), and also Gola dell'Infernaccio (Hell's Gorge) where you can visit the hermit monk, perched at the top of the crag with his hand-built church. These mountains are every bit as dramatic as the landscape of the Dolomites with refuges to be found in isolated spots. The local walking near to house is outstanding as well; it's possible to walk to Amandola along pathways. It's a 1/2 hour steep walk down to the lake where you can get a cold beer from the friendly Osteria to cool you down!
We also have a large games building located close to the house that has fun activities to occupy the family on a rainy day, such as a 14ft fenced trampoline, snooker, Ping pong and more.

What visitors have said about Casa Lola |
| |
| |
We love Casa Lola so much that we keep coming back every year. The house is charming and has bags of character but entirely practical and fully equipped, whether for grown-ups, tiddlers or even those somewhere in between. It's roomy and welcoming, stylish but not at all prissy.
The pool is glorious and the views - especially of the mountains in the early mornings - utterly beguiling. You will need a car to get around but the location is rural and quiet rather than remote. The Local towns - Amandola and Sarnarno - are both within 20min drive.
Amandola in particular is a lovely little town with a beautiful square and wonderful food shopping. The people are very friendly and proud of their town, and if you make the effort to speak even a litttle Italian you will usually be rewarded with a smile. There's even a supermarket at the bottom of the hill there which is open on Sunday - handy for when you arrive and all the other shops are shut.
The fascinating social spectacle that is the Italian seaside is about an hour away by car, complete with palm-fringed boulevards and spotless beaches dotted with umbrellas and sun loungers provided by the hotel and bars that line the fronts of most adriatic resort towns.
Anyone who enjoys being in, on, or up mountains is unlikely to get as far as the seaside though. Walking in the Sybillines is truly stunning and not to be missed. Plenty of maps and guidebooks provided.
If you're looking for a truly relaxing, delightful and practical family holiday, in a part of Italy which is much less touristy that Tuscany but runs it a close second for natural beauty, you won't find better.

If the pictures of Casa Lola are at all misleading, it is only because they do not do full justice to this fine old farmhouse and its panoramic views of the Sibillini mountains. During our two-week stay the weather was glorious – even the thunderstorms we watched on two occasions brewing up over the mountains from the terrace were spectacular. The house itself is well-equipped, comfortable and spacious – more than enough room for the six of us to ‘do our own thing’ when we wanted to and get together when we were more inclined to be sociable. Everything the owners say about the property and facilities is spot on. The pool proved very popular even with those of us who are not normally enthusiastic swimmers.
The surrounding area is relatively unspoilt and the locals particularly welcoming. And although there are only a few restaurants near by they all had their own particular charm. Casa Lola is an ideal holiday home for people who enjoy the country rather than the bright lights. We were delighted to be in the region before hordes of tourists discover it, as they surely must.

We nearly cried when we first arrived it was so beautiful; the website is fantastic but I don't think it hints at half of what you really get, we were chuffed.

We had a fantastic time staying at Casa Lola, unfortunately we only stayed for a week! It was just right for our family holiday, young and old alike. The house is set in an amazing location. The house had everything we needed. We had lots of fun in the pool which has amazing views. The views of the Sibillini mountains are truly wonderful especially sitting on the terrace in the morning
having breakfast. The sunsets are also wonderful. The rural location is just right, not too far from the local towns. Lovely drives through the mountains and lakes, a must is to go to Castelluccio & Piano Grande. A trip to Ascoli Piceno is well worth it. We ate at the local restaurant ‘Le Querce’ near Monte San Martino, the food was very good and rather plentiful!!! Good value, the owner was very friendly considering we spoke very little Italian and he spoke very little English. The Italians are very child friendly. Also ‘Da Priori’ in Monte San Martino was excellent, more expensive, but well worth it. The Le Marche region is a must to visit being beautiful and unspoilt and wished we had stayed longer, hope to go again in the future.
