Further Details |
Rent a car and explore the Sabina countryside. In spring you will be able to savour the sweet scents of the wild flowers that abound in this season, the intense mauves of the Judas tree (Cercis Siliquastrum) that dot the hills, the delicate wisteria that cascades over rugged walls and the intense green of the meadows. The orchards, a mass of pinks and whites of fruit trees in full bloom, first almond, then peach, pear, plum and cherry and last the delicate apple blossom.
Come in June and see the soft colours of the oleander bushes that continue to flower all through the summer and the piercing yellow of the broom that covers hills and dales. Or come and help us pick our olives in November. At our local mill see how they are pressed and watch the pure virgin olive oil as it trickles out, later to be drizzled on piping hot "bruschetta" around an open fire.
