Honey Cottage is a real Irish sweetie. The cottage is over 200 years old and looked very sad and unloved before it was completely renovated by its artistic owners. They have created a beautiful and authentic Irish cottage with every luxury and comfort from which to explore Ireland's dramatic Atlantic coast. |

Interior Details |
The cottage itself is well insulated with three foot thick walls, two feet of thatch and double-glazed windows, so there is little chance of hearing anything on the inside! There is very little traffic noise (either people or cars) and no aircraft noise. There is no TV – conversation, music and drinks around the fire are the order of the day. A traditional open-plan kitchen/sitting room with a real fire and two cottage fireside chairs.
Modern electric range with five ring ceramic hob, two ovens, grill and plate warmer. Kitchen has all Miele appliances (dishwasher, fridge and washing machine) and a Belfast sink.
Handmade pink and oak dresser and table and chairs. Excellent quality china and kitchen equipment.
NB: There is no microwave or TV. We provide games and stereo/CD player. Cosy fireside chats and sing songs are the order of the day!

Exterior Details |
The cottage is secluded, sits in seven acres of land running down to the River Stragar and is 1.5 miles from the fishing port of Killybegs. The land can be boggy and serves as a 'buffer' to make sure the Cottage is on its own and bungalows aren't built all around it, rather than a recreational facility, although obviously guests are free to explore the land. One glance around the Irish countryside will testify to sheer volume of building there and the need to protect this Cottage and its immediate surroundings.

What visitors have said about Honey Cottage |
| |
| |
Just to let you know that we had a lovely week in Ireland. Honey Cottage is truly charming. We enjoyed sitting by a "real" fire, the peace and quiet, the freedom for our son Joseph, the stunning scenery and all the friendly people that we met. It was a nice break for us, and we are now looking forward to our stay in Seville. Thank you for making the arrangements.

This is quite possibly the most adorable little house I have every seen in my life! My family agrees. Everything we see here just makes us smile! Definitely the ultimate relaxing experience! We have had a fabulous time exploring Donegal. Everyone is so friendly here! Thank you for such a lovely stay here! It has been truly memorable. P.S. The Blueberry Cafe in Donegal is a lovely little place for a bite to eat
