General Info |
|
| |
Paros sits at the center of the Cycladic islands in the Aegean Sea. The Cyclades are some of the most popular Greek islands, due in large part to their beautiful sandy beaches and sparkling azure waters. Paros shares this blessing; the island's beaches are magnificent -- some bustling with bathers, music, and windsurfers, others quiet and practically untouched. Golden Beach, Kolymbithres, and Santa Maria are likely the most well known and perhaps the most spectacular, although each corner of Paros offers its own coastal treasures. Visitors are likely to frequent Voutakos, Pygadaki & Alyki beaches – all within a 10-minute drive of the house. A snapshot of Paros, like much of the Cyclades, reveals an island of ancient churches and whitewashed stone houses clustered in and between villages veined with narrow alleys. The island's main towns are Parikia and Naoussa, both of which offer a variety of shops and restaurants. |

Further Details |
The Sea House is owned and tended by a family with deep roots on the island and a great love for this magical place. Visitors to the Sea House will enjoy the special privilege of being received at the port by Ramona, our on-island concierge and a native of Paros. She will introduce you to the house and share with you her knowledge of the sights and secrets of Paros. Although you will have complete privacy during your stay, assistance or advice will only be a phone call away. Our aim is to make you as comfortable as we can, while also granting you access to real Greek island life. To that end, we stock the house with Korres natural bath products, filtered drinking water, wine, beer, soda, coffee, tea, fresh fruit, cheese and bread upon arrival. Firewood is also provided during the colder seasons. Some of the Sea House amenities include: a flatscreen television, wireless internet access, stainless steel Miele appliances, washer and dryer, built-in barbeque, fireplace, outdoor shower, in-room air conditioning and heating, vast gardens, and housekeeping services three times per week.

What visitors have said about The Sea House |
| |
| |
Idyllic is the word to describe this gem of a seaside house. We have visited for the past two summers. Each time we have experienced a feeling of total relaxation. The first year, our three teenagers accompanied us. The Sea House proved to be exceedingly comfortable for us and them. There were a total of eight people in the house and yet it remained private, with plenty of space inside and on the terraces for all to enjoy. The lower level bedroom/bathroom was great for the kids. Among the things they loved about the trip was the house's easy access to the private beach and, of course, the vibrant, young night-life of Naoussa. Following a morning swim, my husband and I spent most mornings in the town of Alyki, only a few minutes from the house, leisurely enjoying coffee, traditional "toast" and people-watching. From there we went wherever the mood took us: to the local bakery for delicious traditional Greek breads and cookies; boating out to swim in the nearby turquoise-colored lagoon, lunching, shopping and gallery hopping in Parikia; touring the narrow streets and mountaintop sights of Lefkes; enjoying the wonderful Greek tradition of a siesta after a long lunch. The possibilities are endless. Nothing was better than to be at The Sea House in the early evening to enjoy a glass of ouzo, fresh tomatoes and local cheese, a game of backgammon and, always, a long, quiet spectacular sunset. Perfection! Each time we sadly depart, we begin to plan our return trip.

Last summer, my husband and I spent a few days at the Sea House on the island of Paros. It was like arriving in heaven after a very tough year. An intimate hideaway unfolds on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea. The house is a sanctuary of pure indulgence and seclusion. It provides a very nice and relaxing atmosphere, with its terrace facing the sea where we dined around a marble table. The thatched roof keeps the place very cool despite the outside heat. A fully equipped kitchen is inside next to the terrace. The living room is wide and comfortable. The bedrooms are lovely and each has its own bathroom. The house has a direct access to the sea. At the end of the afternoon, when the heat was fading away, we walked down a short path to the adjacent beach for a swim in the sea. Back at the house, we rinsed off in the comfortable and private outdoor shower. All in all, I was impressed by the very silent surrounding. I highly recommend this exquisite home as an excellent place to really rest and make the best of Paros, away from the crowds.
