General Info |
|
| |
Paros sits at the center of the Cycladic islands in the Aegean Sea. The Cyclades are some of the most popular Greek islands, due in large part to their beautiful sandy beaches and sparkling azure waters. Paros shares this blessing; the island's beaches are magnificent -- some bustling with bathers, music, and windsurfers, others quiet and practically untouched. Golden Beach, Kolymbithres, and Santa Maria are likely the most well known and perhaps the most spectacular, although each corner of Paros offers its own coastal treasures. Visitors are likely to frequent Voutakos, Pygadaki & Alyki beaches – all within a 10-minute drive of the house. A snapshot of Paros, like much of the Cyclades, reveals an island of ancient churches and whitewashed stone houses clustered in and between villages veined with narrow alleys. The island's main towns are Parikia and Naoussa, both of which offer a variety of shops and restaurants. |

Further Details |
Visitors will enjoy the special privilege of being received at the port by Ramona, our on-island concierge and a native of Paros. She will introduce you to the house and share with you her knowledge of the sights and secrets of Paros. Although you will have complete privacy during your stay, assistance or advice will only be a phone call away. Our aim is to make you as comfortable as we can, while also granting you access to real Greek island life. Guests who visit during the fall season will be invited to assist with olive picking and grape harvest. As your hosts, we are eager to serve the individual needs of our guests and make you feel at home. To that end, we stock the house with Korres natural bath products, filtered drinking water, wine, beer, soda, coffee, tea, fresh fruit, cheese and bread upon arrival. Firewood is also provided during the colder seasons. We are happy to organize any additional provisions you may need; those requests are typically handled at the time of booking. We provide weekly maid service as part of the rental fee. Daily service can be organized for an additional fee. Some of the Olive House amenities include: a flatscreen television, wireless internet access, Bose iPod speaker dock, espresso maker, washer and dryer, built-in barbeque, fireplace, outdoor shower, carport, in-room air conditioning and heating, vast gardens, our own small vineyard, and weekly maid service.

What visitors have said about The Olive House |
| |
| |
Our family spent a lovely, blissful week at the Olive House. The house is beautiful and extremely comfortable, with peaceful gardens, picturesque patios, and a perfect master bedroom with a view across the Aegean Sea to the island of Antiparos. It is located on a hillside near the small town of Alyki, a quaint waterside village with good casual dining spots. The local bakery provided fantastic baked goods for breakfast. We were met at the ferry by Ramona, who helped us find our rental car, led us to the house, gave us lots of good advice about sights and activities, and was available during the week to answer any questions. Having Ramona available to us felt like having a local friend on the island. Each day we visited a different beautiful beach to swim in the sparkling water. Our favorite town was Naoussa - all white-washed walls and blue shutters. A goofy pleasure popular with our kids was the small water park near Naoussa. The water park was all salt water, with slides that dumped you right into the sea. We also enjoyed taking our car on the ferry to Antiparos and exploring that island, including some surprising caverns. We loved our time at the Olive House and most definitely recommend it for a fun and relaxing vacation.

Paros – what a surprise! Everything is beautiful - the sea, the villages, the hills, the views, and especially…every day coming back to the Olive House. Everything was perfect! Thank you.

We had a wonderful time at the Olive House. The view and the location of the house are perfect. Everything is done with very good taste. Very nearby the house there are beautiful, different places to go for a swim. This part of the island is one of the best, because it is still wild and not too crowded. For children, the house is perfect, and the garden is very peaceful. We hope to come back one day. Thank you.
