General Info |
|
| |
This is one of three holiday houses which have been restored by their conservation architect owner. The houses have been restored in keeping with authentic local Cretan style and their unique character has been enhanced with beautiful detailing. They face the southeast and capture magnificent views out to the Libyan sea from every room, terrace or courtyard. Their interiors are furnished with selected pieces from 19th century neoclassical Greece and with paintings of well known Greek artists. |

Details on the area surrounding the property/accommodation |
|
| |
The village of Anatoli dates back to Venetian times and is set at 600m altitude surrounded by wild countryside, gigantic rock formations and natural spring waters. The location is ideal for its peaceful environment with cool microclimate in the summer, the splendid views to the Libyan Sea and the proximity to beautiful sandy beaches of east Crete. A British couple have settled in Anatoli, and have an animal farm, organizing mule and donkey excursions along some of these old paths.
Sandy beaches extend either to the northeast or to the southeast, including some of the most famous Cretan beaches. White sand and azure waters – you are spoilt for choice! You should not miss a day trip to Chrissi Sand Island (the Golden Sand beach), the most renowned beach island (no building is allowed) in Crete. It is a natural environment of exceptional beauty; you can get boats from the port of Ierapetra. |

Interior Details |
All rooms open either to the courtyard or the terrace and capture views of the sea (except for the smallest double bedroom). It can accommodate 8 people, since it has five main rooms, three of which are double bedrooms, a sitting room with fireplace, a dining room with two couch-beds, a spacious kitchen, and two bathrooms. It works well as a spacious house either for one or two families, or for friends, as the en suite bedrooms are at opposite ends of the house with the communal areas in between.

Further Details |
Anatoli has olive tree groves, sculptured rock formations and spectacular views to the sea. Before the construction of the main road the villagers used paths that are still preserved, to go to neighbouring villages, to their cemetery, to agricultural land and to four little Byzantine churches in the vicinity of the village. All these places are of outstanding beauty and make excellent walks for visitors to the area.

What visitors have said about Pasiphae House |
| |
| |
What a wonderful place to stay. We had a terrific vacation and enjoyed the house thoroughly.Thank you also for your suggestions to visit Lato and Kritsa and the visit to the Church frescoes. They were particularly beautiful. Our girls will also have fond memories of the beaches and the village Anatoli.
