Paradiski (La Plagne + Les Arcs) has over 400kms of pistes to explore and a huge variety of runs. The skiing ranges from 1250 metres to 3400 metres, with 70% of the ski area above 2000 metres which makes it high and snow sure. Beginners start on gentle green runs through the trees (with convenient piste side restaurants for refreshment!); intermediates can get from one side the resort to the other on blue runs; and advanced skiers can test themselves on the black runs, powder fields and serious off piste (the north face of the Bellecote is locally famous for an off piste adventure).

What visitors have said about La Portette

http://www.tripadvisor.com/VacationRentalReview-g562741-d1923722-La_Portette-Macot_la_Plagne_Savoie_Rhone_Alpes.html#reviews We stayed here over New Year, as a group of eleven friends – and we all loved it! Liza, the owner, was very helpful from the time of booking, accommodating last minute changes and keeping us up to date with special offers on ski hire. The chalet hosts, Peter and Vera, were fantastic and the food they prepared was perfect to keep a hungry party happy (as was the included wine each evening)! Vera’s afternoon cakes were legendary, and Peter ferried us to and from the slopes in the private minibus, which was handy and convenient. The chalet is extremely cosy and full of character, with rooms of different sizes and styles, and the top floor, with its big comfy sofas and large dining table, has the most incredible views. You can sit on the sofa with a cup of tea and look all the way down the valley, it really is quite special. The non-skiers in our party kept themselves busy with the DVD library and the mountains of books. The village is rural and unspoilt in the best possible way – you can even hear the cows and pigs in the morning – it wouldn’t suit someone looking for pumping après-ski but it’s an ideal springboard to access the vast ski areas of both La Plagne and Les Arcs (you are literally between the two and the main ski pass covers both resorts) without having to stay in an ugly, purpose-built resort. We loved it – and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to a family or group of friends who want to ski, eat and relax.

http://www.tripadvisor.com/VacationRentalReview-g562741-d1923722-La_Portette-Macot_la_Plagne_Savoie_Rhone_Alpes.html#reviews We stay in different resorts every weekend during the ski season but this was the best so far. Excellent location –right in the middle of 2 great ski resorts (Les Arcs & La Plagne), excellent service – even lamb haters loved the slowly roasted lamb served for a dinner, really nice tasty food, bottled wine (unlimited) served with dinner and after dinner :) & freshly baked cake for “après ski”.

Philippa,  London,  Feb 2004

We had an absolutely fantastic holiday which was due in no small part to the excellent service we received from you and the team. It was brilliant to have such a personal touch with lifts/transfers, equipment and lift passes all done from the chalet – a first for me in many years of skiing. We were equally bowled over by the chalet itself which was a real chocolate box treat, a huge credit to you both!
