This is Provence at its best. Le Clos des Pins, a villa set in half an acre of grounds in the middle of the vineyards, was completely renovated in 2008/9. The villa is charming, spacious and tastefully furnished & decorated. The terrace off the kitchen with direct views of Mont Ventoux and vineyards, is perfect for al-fresco dining at any time of day. Le Clos is well located, just 5 minutes from the village of Villedieu and 5 minutes from Vaison-la-Romaine. There are numerous wine tasting caves just minutes from the villa and Mont Ventoux is less than 20 minutes away. Avignon and the villages of the Luberon are all within an hour from the villa.

Details on the area surrounding the property/accommodation
The climate and landscape are typical Provencal - vineyards, olive trees, stone buildings and sleepy villages. Explore the local town of Vaison-la-Romaine, just 5km away, with its Roman remains and fantastic Provencal market every Tuesday morning. Try one of the 3 restaurants in your nearest village, Villedieu, just 3 minutes away - simple "al-fresco" dining the French way. Or go further afield and enjoy days out in Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Fontaine de Vaucluse, the famous Luberon villages of Gordes, Lacoste, Roussillon, Menerbes, Bonnieux & Apt all within an hour from the house. Hiring bikes and cycling around the villages is great fun. There are numerous marked paths for the off-roaders and plenty of local villages to visit for those who prefer road cycling.

What visitors have said about Le Clos des Pins

Our whole family have enjoyed Le Clos des Pins so much that we shall be returning for our third consecutive year in 2011.
Family of 8,  West Yorkshire, UK,  Jul 2010

Both Steve and alison from our first email were responsive, efficient and honest with answers to our queries. Very helpful too much maps and directions on how to access the house and a great welcome when we arrived. Our family (Dad, Mum 14yr daughter and 9 yr son) had a fabulous holiday in Clos des Pins. A must for anyone who wants to be spoilt in a fabulous self catering chateau. Table games, cards, boules outside, great swimming pool and the location made for the best of holidays. Le Clos des Pins is located very near Vaison La Romaine but it is the tiny hilltop village of Villedieu that we fell in love with. The town square is canopied by full foilaged plane trees and their shade is invaluable in the hot French sun. The restaurants around this square cater for all tastes. French gallettes, pizzas and tapas, and sometimes a paella van sells his wares and you can take this to a table where you can eat to your heart's content.

This was our third visit to Le Clos des Pins - and once again we had an excellent holiday. We know this area very well, and this is our favourite place. We find this house provides the perfect mix of comfort, location and facilities. The house works for a couple and right up to a group of eight - never overcrowded, nor feeling as if one is rattling around. The excellent en-suite facilities and well-equipped kitchen (all so clean!), plus dining on the patio and relaxing by the pool, both with views of Mont Ventoux, are our highlights. The situation is perfect for visits to local towns and pretty villages with opportunities for eating out, markets, wineries, as well as trips to major sights such as avignon, etc. And finally, Alison and Steve are the most perfect hosts!

Everything about the stay was absolutely wonderful. The hosts were incredibly accommodating and kind, the location was absolutely perfect and of course the house was absolutely gorgeous. The photos do not do it justice. I only wish that I could stay there for a month every year. We have rented a bunch of houses in lots of different countries and this one has got to be my favorite. I have so many fond memories drinking wine on the patio, lounging and even working in that gorgeous office. Thanks for a wonderful week!

We had a really fabulous time here. Can't believe how much attention to detail there has been, down to the kids books (which our son loved), the SKY TV, wi-fi, pool, magazines, wine, coffee machine etc etc has made our stay luxurious. Location is amazing & the advice re what to see and do has been really helpful. Love the house and will be sad to leave. Will recommend it to others for sure. Thanks so much....
Family of 3,  India,  Sep 2009

The welcome and care was extraordinary and the home was immaculate. Shopping and weekly market in Vaison La Romaine was great and the home is well located for day trips to various villages and towns of interest; yet still ensures privacy tucked amongst the vineyards. After a month there we seemed to have left a bit of ourselves behind. Cannot find a negative feature to critique.
