  General Info
Nestled at the end of an abandoned railroad track under the benevolant gaze of the majestic "Baou" and hill village of St Jeannet, lies La Maison de Laurence. The location itself is wonderful! Take a walk down the abandoned railroad track, through a tunnel where a majestic railway bridge suddenly appears. Walk to the middle for an incredible view, or nip around behind the bridge down to the dappled sunlight of the Cagne where a swimming hole invites and great boulders soak up the sun to reward the intrepid swimmer. Purchase some fresh fish which you can bbq under the olive trees on your patio accompanied by fresh herbs and lemons from the garden. Maybe tomorrow you will explore the other direction; 5 minutes to historic Vence - a beautiful village with shopping, market, cafes, restaurants, museums, galleries and more.

What visitors have said about La Maison de Laurence

What a charming spot! We have had a lovely week here at la maison de Laurence, a really tranquil and relaxing time. Marvellous terrace for both breakfasts and evening BBQs watching the fireflies and listening to the frogs with the scent of roses flying by. Our 8 month old loved the chickens and the tiles in the bathroom! Our highlights have been swimming in the river pool, lunch at the Colombe d'Or in Saint Paul, quite pricey but very good food and amazing atmosphere, the Matisse chapel, very beautiful and just up the road, and the Gorges du Loup, great views and amazing pools to swim in!

La maison has become our second home. Laurence gives so much thought and attention to the comfort of her visitors, as well as a charming, friendly manner. It's no wonder we eagerly return, and there's so much to do in the area. We have walked le plateau de St Barnabé, the Col de Vence and went to the wonderful Parc du Mercantour. We again enjoyed Menton and Monaco. However there is nothing better after an energetic and tiring day than coming back to the scent and sounds of Laurence's garden which is particularly beautiful this year. The memories will stay with us till next time.

We have had a very memorable holiday here in your beautiful home Laurence. It is a perfect place to unwind and an ideal base for touring the Riviera. Our kids thoroughly enjoyed "chatting" with your hens and geese. We would love to return one day, many thanks for your kind hospitality..

We have felt so welcomed by Nicolas and Laurence, which makes the whole experience even more memorable. This really is the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of the Riviera. We have so enjoyed returning to the tranquillity of your beautiful gardens Laurence, the hooting of the owl and the gorgeous sunsets over the hills, we wouldn’t change a thing! This has been the perfect place for a pregnant mum to be to relax before the birth of our little one! Visits we would recommend: -the Rothschild villa on Cap Ferrat, east of nice the gardens are beautiful with stunning views over the sea. -the perched village of Eze, east of nice. -villefranche sur mer and beaulieu sur mer, east of nice, small, but beautiful old towns, with stunning walks along the coastline. -Antibes, really lovely sandy beach. -the public swimming pool in Vence is fabulous, with stunning views down the sea the market in Vence on a Wednesday morning is lovely.

A wonderful holiday chez Laurence we were very sad to leave. So beautiful this time of year, the gardens are joy. We can recommend to walk to Cap d'Antibes and Baou des Noirs. Our 19 month old loved the geese and chickens. We hope to be back soon Many thanks.

What a lovely retreat La Maison has been for the Duell's- a place to stop and enjoy the views, relaxing and the terrace. We've had fun exploring the hill top towns and finding new local delicacies to sample. This definitely fits the Australian definition or "getting away from it all" thank you to the charming Thiebaut family for making us feel so welcome! Caroline. ps the BBQ was great!

We have had a lovely holiday up here in the hills. A very relaxing environment, a great place for the kids as our two boys can testify. James (6) climbed the Baou de Saint Jeannet and John (4) was fascinated by the geese! We'd love to come back as we feel there is so much to see and do. Thank you, Dan, Goldie, James and John.
