  The Charente region boasts one of the best micro-climates in France. The countryside around Segonzac is renowned as one of the most beautiful areas in the Charente with undulating hills, mile upon mile of neatly kept vineyards interspersed with fields of sunflowers. The natural light is truly wonderful and attracts many an artist. You will be spoilt by the selection of fantastic foods available from local markets and shops. There are plenty of restaurants within easy reach from good basic country cooking to the most refined cuisine. The riverside towns of Cognac and Jarnac are both 15mins away offering wider choices of shops and restaurants, golf and river events! There are plenty of things for the children to do. Historical towns of Saintes and Angouleme are also nearby.

  Interior Details The farmhouse has been lovingly restored and is full of decorative antiques and many original features. The large farmhouse kitchen is fully equipped with professional Rosieres cooker range, american style fridge/freezer and everything needed to create those delicious family meals from all the lovely French local produce. The old stone fireplace in the living room creates a homely feel as does the large separate dining room with double French windows opening onto the large park gardens. There are 5 large bedrooms upstairs, two of them en-suite and one further large family bathroom. The rooms are light and quiet.

  Exterior Details The gardens are full of mature trees and delicious fruit trees. The 10x5m pool is to the rear of the property.

  Conditions of Rental We supply all linen and towels but would ask guests to please bring pool towels...you can rent them if wished. We can arrange for logs for a winter let. Electric radiators are fitted throughout the farmhouse and in cooler months there will be a charge for electricity at the local rate. A first installment payment of 25% is required to secure the booking and the balance payable 8 weeks before arrival. A damages deposit of £250 per booking is required when the final balance is paid (to be refunded within 2 weeks of your departure subject to a satisfactory property inspection).
