The house is based on the traditional Norman "long house", similar to English Tudor cottages, but benefits from modern features inside. The rooms are very generous, and sit beneath the thatched roof. Wooden shutters provide excellent darkness and traffic is very light, so it is overall very restful. The house is perfectly situated with many excellent activities a short drive away. |

The property sits between a number of small and very pretty towns, with local markets and artisans. Of particular note is Honfleur, with its unique harbour and tall houses. Used by both Henry 8th and Napoleon, the town has a long history of boat building. There are many activities nearby, including golf, shooting, high-wire adventure, petting zoo, sailing/canoeing from the beach. The Normandy beach museum, Bayeux Tapestry and Cerza Zoo park are within a two-hour drive and make for an excellent day out. |

| From J7 of the A29/E44 motorway, follow the signs for Etretat, taking the D910, then the D139 through Criquetot l'Esneval. Before arriving at Etretat there is a sharp left and a right onto rue du Riboudin. We will send a photographic route guide with bookings. |

The house sits in the centre of 4.4Ha (10.5 acres) of pasture and woodland. The wood is on a steep slope behind the house. The main garden area is South facing and catches the Summer sun for the whole day. There is fixed play equipment for children up to 8 years' old. The pasture is ideal for ball games, although it is partially shared with horses and free-range chickens. The protected bluebell-rich woodland is wild and is passed through by deer, wild boar and badgers. Guests are welcome to roam through it, but care must be taken with small children.

The rooms are part of the main house, so our guests take breakfast in the main dining room. English TV stations are available, and we are happy to help with itinerary planning.
