As the wrought-iron gates open you will note the perfect symmetry of the hunting lodge built 200 years ago, with elegant shutters and a double staircase fanning out from the door. To the side are brick barn buildings, immaculate; behind, a lovely lake-canal sprinkled with ducks; beyond, waving fields of sunflowers and corn. There are two sitting rooms and sofas galore, books, games and satellite TV, and doors that fling open to a deck over the water. You get a kitchen with two vast fridges and utensils to please the most exacting of chefs, a dining room for candlelit dinners, heaps of comfortable beds (mostly twins) dressed in fine linen, numerous bathrooms sporting fluffy white towels. Golf, horse riding, horse racing, Toulouse and Carcassonne – all are near. A friendly English couple take care of the entire estate. Peace reigns supreme. |

In true 18th century style the principal first floor has a large entrance hall, off which are two ensuite twin bedrooms. It also leads to an elegant salon, made up of two rooms, both with open fireplaces and comfortable, elegantly upholstered furniture. There is Sky TV, DVD & video player and a separate reading area with writing desk. It leads to the principal bedroom with dressing room (with twin beds) on one side and stairway and beamed bedroom (twin & shower) on the other. The spacious ground floor entrance hall leads to the kitchen and dining room, which seats 12/14, and then through to a large family sitting room and onto the south facing terrace. The downstairs bedroom with ensuite shower also has French windows opening onto the terrace. The kitchen is very well equipped and includes two fridges and two dishwashers. There is also a separate children’s play area (well stocked) and TV room with DVD.

The house is set in the middle of 40 hectares. There is a lavender walk to the pool and guest annexe. The pool area (mosaic pool 10m x 5m) has a large marble topped bar with fridge and sink and plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas and a selection of pool toys. The pool is solar heated. There are two separate terraces both with tables and chairs so you can pick your eating area. In front of the house is a canal with ducks and swans and on the other side through the trees you can glimpse the tennis court, with practice wall and basketball net. Children will love playing under the trees in the park where they have their own adventure play area with trampoline, slides, swings and zip wire, bikes to ride and table football. There are football goals and badminton. There are 41 hectares of landscaped park and farmland.

There are two open fire places, under floor heating for the winter, fans, shutters and huge windows for the summer. 6 bedrooms have ensuite bathrooms with either bath or shower, the seventh bedroom is adjacent to the master bedroom and is perfect for children. There are two sitting rooms one on each floor,separate wc on each floor, a dining room, fully equipped kitchen, childrens play room, laundry room and masses of space to find a peaceful corner. Guest Annexe: 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, sitting room with Sofa bed and kitchenette. Entrance to the guest annexe is between the pool and the kitchen of the main house. Staff: Garden, housekeeper/maid, gardener. Babysitting available. Airport pickup by arrangement.

High Season (June 1 - September 15) £5250 per week Mid Season (March 15 - May 31 & September 16 to October 15) £3750 per week Low Season (October 16 - March 14) £3000 per week. Long weekends are available in low and mid season by arrangement. Christmas, New Year, Easter & Spring Bank Holiday - weekly bookings only A refundable deposit of 10% is required to cover any damage incurred during the booking.
