Ty Louisette has everything you could wish for as a home away from home. The Gite is located in a quiet rural hamlet but is a short drive from Pontivy with all the amenities a large town has to offer. The Gite itself is less than a minute's walk from the Nantes-Brest canal with its towpaths to explore and fishing permits are available. It's possible to cycle along the canal from the Gite directly into the centre of Pontivy. |

Saint Gérand village is 2km away from this villa in Brittany and has a general store and bakery. Pontivy is 6km away. The town is part Napoleonic and part medieval and boasts a magnificent 15th C castle. Vannes with its walled medieval heart, shops and picturesque old port is one hour away. Auray's beautiful harbour with restaurants is 50 mins drive. Rennes can be reached in 1 hour. Lorient with wartime submarine pens is 1 hour away. Popular Interceltique festival takes place here each summer. See our links page. There are popular lakeside beaches at Lac de Guerledan with canoeing, cafés and restaurant 20 minutes drive to the north. The fine sandy beaches of Brittany's south coast are 45 minutes drive away and the more rugged north coast is approximately an hour and a quarter's drive. The nearest golf course (9 holes) is at Rimaison, approximately 15km from the gite. |

Inside you will find the light and airy kitchen has all mod-cons and is beautifully furnished with seating for 8 around a long oak table. It has direct access to both the front breakfast terrace and rear garden deck. You will have the use of a large fan oven and ceramic hob, microwave and coffee machine. Catch up on French culture with the wall-mounted flatscreen digital TV or listen to music on the CD player and Radio with iPod and USB ports. The living room is cosy with ample seating, wood burning stove, the option of subdued lighting, flat-screen digital TV with British freeview satellite channels and French digital terrestrial choices or watch a movie on the DVD player. The master bedroom with double bed has a private en-suite shower room/WC. The main bathroom has a large wetroom style shower and full bath with shower attachment. A separate WC is adjacent. Ty Louisette has a large private rear garden with raised wooden deck. Cafe style aluminium chairs and tables allow you to arrange the seating at will. At the front, straight out from the kitchen there is a large and sunny breakfast terrace, complete with hanging wisteria and clematis plants, under which you can enjoy a peaceful start to your day. On this terrace there is a large wooden picnic table to sit around. A mere minute's walk from the house will bring you to the towpath along the Nantes Brest canal which will take you for miles through villages and towns and the fine farming countryside.

All rooms are on one level and the gite is adapted for wheelchair access. Ramps front and back allow access to the gite, breakfast terrace and rear deck. Main bathroom and separate wc are designed with wheelchair in mind. The shower is flush with floor level and has no tray allowing for chair access. Shower stool and support handles are provided. The separate WC has turning space, raised WC, lowered sink and mirror.

Conditions of Rental |
Once you have booked a stay in this villa in Brittany, the booking will be held for one week and is confirmed upon receipt of 30% deposit. The full balance is payable 8 weeks before arrival. Prices are quoted in euros and we accept bookings by credit or debit card (via PayPal). Sterling cheques can be accepted subject to a 30 euros surcharge to cover French bank charges. Bookings are from Saturday to Saturday. The gite must be vacated by 10.00am and new arrivals are welcome after 4.00pm. Full bedding and bath towels are provided. These can be changed after 1 week if required for an additional charge of 7.50 euros per person. Please bring your own beach towels. Please note that Ty Louisette is a non-smoking gite. We kindly request that you do not bring pets.
