General Info |
|
| |
Les Chouettes is part of a converted 17th century Breton longhouse and it has been tastefully adapted into magnificent holiday gite with 6 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a large private terrace overlooking the garden. It retains many of its original features and the exposed beams and wood-burning stove give it a lovely old-style feel but is also equipped with all the modern comforts you could want from a holiday home. A heated, enclosed pool, secluded patio area with barbecue and garden furniture, and 2 acres of lawned garden all make for a totally relaxing stay in the heart of Brittany. The countryside surrounding the house is peaceful and beautiful but you are also a mere 45 minutes from the Emerald coast and a stone’s throw from several historic towns and villages. |

Outside the house there is a large private terrace overlooking the lovely garden. This is very well equipped with lots of garden furniture and a barbecue for those lazy summer evenings. The garden itself stretches to 2 acres of lawn, just made for picnics or a game of cricket! The garden also houses a 10mx5m heated pool (open from April to October) which is fenced and alarmed for your children’s safety and your peace of mind. Around the pool there are sunbeds, cushions and parasols aplenty. Hidden behind the pool, there is a trampoline and children’s play area with swings and a slide and for the grownups there is a boules court set by a small orchard. You can be as active or inactive as you want!

What visitors have said about Les Chouettes |
| |

"Our best family holiday ever! We loved the garden, the trampoline, swimming in the pool, making sandcastles on deserted sunny beaches, walking and picnicking in the forest, going to the zoo one of the few grey days (falconry display a great hit!) the Parc Floral (very popular with four year olds and grandparents!), eating croissants, crêpes and ice-cream, running along the old railway track and enjoying the beautiful countryside in incredible weather. So much so that we've already booked for next year. Thankyou Susan, for such great hospitality, we love your corner of the world."

"We have had a wonderful holiday here. Our party of 14 very much appreciated your kindness and advice. The countryside here is beautiful and despite the rain we have had a very enjoyable holiday"

We have had the perfect week here. The gite has everything you need and more and the pool is a real joy, cover up or down. Highlights for us were walks in the forest, picnics by the lake, Mt St Michel in brilliant sunshine, Dinan with lovely churches, haunting music coming from the music school, and the best crepes ever at Crêperie Alma, a cosy lunch spot on a rainy day. St Malo was also well worth the trip, as were the chateaux close to the gite. The sausages from the farm shop were fabulous. We have had superb weather and wouldn't have changed a thing except to have booked for 2 weeks rather than a week! Susan is the perfect 'landlady', helpful and easy going and as a special treat she let us take her lovely dogs out for a walk or two which helped us a lot as we were missing ours a lot! A smashing place to stay and must be great for kids too. I'm sure we'll be back.
