The yurt at Chez Devallon lies about 2km from the village of Nanteuil Auriac de Bourzac. Verteillac lies close by for basic shopping requirements & bank, post office, bars/restaurants, doctor pharmacy, garage, tourist information. Just 15kms away is Riberac, renowned for its busy Friday market, or in the other direction, Villebois Lavalette, both having good supermarkets & other town amenities. We made the yurt ourselves - we have a willow plantation so the wood for the lattice structure came from a mile down the road! |

Within easy reach is Brantome, a delightful riverside town with prehistoric caves, a magnificent Benedictine abbey & canoeing along the river, whilst Aubeterre, a beautiful hillside village with its Monolithic church, arty shops & river beach lies SW into the Charente. The cities of Angouleme & Perigueux are both within an hour’s drive, offering an abundance of both sightseeing & shopping opportunities. Further afield take a day out to explore Cognac(70km), Bergerac (75km), the vineyards of St Emilion(80km), or visit the city of Bordeaux(120km). |

Getting There:
| Angouleme Airport is only an hour’s drive away and is served by Ryanair from Stansted Airport. Bergerac is just over an hour’s drive and has daily flight from several destinations. Other possible airports are Bordeaux (1hr45), Poitier (2hrs), Limoges (2hrs) and La Rochelle (2hrs30mins). Flybe, Ryanair, BMI Baby, Easyjet and BA all have regular flights coming into the area. Angouleme, the capital of the Charente is only a 45 minute drive away and from here you can get the TGV train up to Paris (in just over 2hrs) or to Lille for links on to London via Eurostar. The nearest ferry ports are Caen (Ouistreham) and St Malo (both about a 6 hour drive) and Dieppe and Le Havre 6hr 30mins. Calais and Boulogne are a little further but often the ferry crossing is cheaper. Pick up from airports or train stations by prior arrangement. |

What do you get on a holiday in a yurt? omfy double bed ready and made up for your arrival, sofa and seating area with a selection of books and games. Wooden flooring, spacious 5 metre diameter. Wind up torches and lanterns supplied. Ample storage space. Outside there is a private compost toilet and solar shower. Towels (one hand towel and one bath towel) can be hired for €5 per person. We can do a washing load for you if necessary for €5 per load (just washed ready for you to hang out!)

Situated on a smallholding - chickens, sheep (and soon to be pigs) as well as organic vegetable plot and orchard. You are welcome to explore the local area – there’s lots of space here!

Quiet, rural location in the North Dordogne. All amenities nearby and excellent choice of restaurants to meet all tastes. Excellent area for lovers of the countryside, especially good for cycling, walking, or birdwatching (bikes available).Several outdoor swimming pools and river beaches closeby. Great canoeing.

Rental |
We ask for a 25% deposit to secure reservations. The remaining balance is due 8 weeks prior to the start of your holiday in a yurt. Refunds of moneys paid (deposit or balance payments) will only be refunded if it is possible to relet the accommodation so please let us know as soon as possible if you cannot come on your holiday. Where refunds are made a sum to cover administration costs will be retained.
