Mile upon mile of listed footpaths surround the area with walks winding through woods, along streams and taking in some magnificent views. Detailed maps of the 20 most spectacular walks in the Dordogne are available, one of which runs along the boundary of the grounds. Walkers are totally spoilt for choice with outstanding countryside in all directions. The Waters family live on site and are on hand and willing to help with any queries or assistance you may require. We are happy to arrange transport for guests to and from airports or to Sarlat or other local villages during the evening should you wish to partake of the local wine or perhaps just want to leave the car behind. The breathtaking valley views and surrounding grounds of woodlands and meadows will overwhelm you with a feeling of peace and tranquility disturbed only by the abundance of wildlife and the occasional distant tractor. |

Situated within the hamlet of La Tour we are just two minutes from the pretty village of Sainte Nathalene with a bar, hotel, restaurants and a small shop. Ferme de la Tour is just 7 miles from the historical town of Sarlat-La-Caneda, with more listed buildings than any other town in Europe, it is perfectly placed for access to all of the most beautiful sites in Dordogne and Lot. There are numerous chateaux to visit, caves to explore and pretty market towns to meander through. There are also a wide range of outdoor activities for all ages, which include walking, golfing, horse riding, canoeing, inland swimming lakes and beaches, tennis, cycling and mountain biking. The Perigord region is famous for its quality food and wine, available at very favourable rates. For the even more serious wine lovers, Bergerac and its fine wine region is under an hour away. |

The living area has stunning views over the garden and Dordogne valley beyond, through fully glazed French doors. The ceiling is vaulted with beautifully crafted oak timbers. The walls have exposed honey coloured stonework and the floor is tiled. The television receives Sky satellite TV along with a DVD and CD player. There is a dining table and chairs and a staircase giving access to a lovely galleried landing on the first floor which overlooks the lounge area and gives access to the bedroom. The heavily beamed kitchen with a window overlooking a pretty courtyard, is fully equipped with plenty of worktop area, fitted units and all the accessories you may need during your stay. The romantic bedroom has a double bed, stunning exposed beams in a vaulted ceiling, polished chestnut floors and a velux roof window. The shower room, with heavily beamed ceiling, has a shower, toilet and hand basin.

La Fournil has its own secluded terrace with patio furniture and barbecue and is the perfect spot to sit and gaze for mile upon mile across the Dordogne valley. The large park like gardens are on a gentle slope with beautiful shady trees, large grass areas and a chlorine free swimming pool with terrace and sun beds.
Under the shade of two grand old oaks there is a children's play area with swings, slide, climbing frame etc.
Other on site activities include table tennis, boules, badminton and table football. The pool, which is bathed in sunshine from dawn to dusk, is perfectly sited to maximise the views, enabling you to relax and admire the ever changing colours of the Dordogne valley.

There are table tennis, boules, badminton, a children's play area and swings in the garden. There are also a good selection of other indoor and outdoor games. A listed footpath runs alongside the rear boundary of the grounds and the neighbouring chateau is open to the public at limited periods during the year. With surrounding patio area, sun loungers and garden furniture, it is a sun worshippers paradise, perfectly situated to take in both the view and the sun from dawn until dusk. All accommodation has been heavily insulated to ensure a cool environment during the hot sunny weeks and a warm and cosy one during winter, for out of season visitors.

Prices include : All bed linen, bath and hand towels, tea towels, gas, electricity, and tax de sejour A cot, bed linen and a high chair are available and are also included in the rental price. Pool towels are available to rent at 5 euros per person for the duration of your stay. We welcome families and couples alike but sorry no pets. Friendly but un-intrusive owners live on site.
