With breathtaking views over the Dordogne Valley, if you are looking for peace and tranquillity, you will find it here. This cottage has stunning views from every room, and is one of three lovingly restored 16th century gites, with a large shared swimming pool, and surrounded by magnificent countryside. Mile upon mile of listed footpaths surround the area with walks winding through woods, along streams and taking in some magnificent views. Detailed maps of the 20 most spectacular walks in the Dordogne are available, one of which runs along the boundary of the grounds. Walkers are totally spoilt for choice with outstanding countryside in all directions. The Waters family live on site and are on hand and willing to help with any queries or assistance you may require. We are happy to arrange transport for guests to and from airports or to Sarlat or other local villages during the evening should you wish to partake of the local wine or perhaps just want to leave the car behind. |

Situated within the hamlet of La Tour we are just two minutes from the pretty village of Sainte Nathalene with a bar, hotel, restaurants and a small shop. Ferme de la Tour is just 7 miles from the historical town of Sarlat-La-Caneda, with more listed buildings than any other town in Europe, it is perfectly placed for access to all of the most beautiful sites in Dordogne and Lot. There are numerous chateaux to visit, caves to explore and pretty market towns to meander through. There are also a wide range of outdoor activities for all ages, which include walking, golfing, horse riding, canoeing, inland swimming lakes and beaches, tennis, cycling and mountain biking. The Perigord region is famous for its quality food and wine, available at very favourable rates. For the even more serious wine lovers, Bergerac and its fine wine region is under an hour away. |

The cottage with stunning views from every room is sunny and airy and sleeps 2 to 5 people in comfort. The accommodation has been arranged to enable you take full advantage of the wonderful views from every room. The living area with terracotta floor, wood burner, ample quality furniture and Sky satellite TV, has double French doors with valley views and leads out onto your own south facing terrace with patio furniture and barbecue, all under the mottled shade of an Indian bean tree. The kitchen/diner with seating for five has exposed timbers and views over the neighbouring chateau and valley beyond. Bedroom one has a double bed, polished chestnut floors and magnificent valley views. Bedroom two has two single beds with the option of a third, polished chestnut floors and views of the chateau. The bathroom has a basin, WC and a large walk in shower.

The cottage boasts its own private terrace with garden furniture and barbecue and is the perfect spot to sit and gaze for mile upon mile across the Dordogne valley. The large park- like gardens are on a gentle slope with beautiful shady trees large grass areas and a chlorine free swimming pool (13x4.5m) with terrace and sun beds. Under the shade of two grand old oaks there is a children's play area with swings, slide, climbing frame etc

There are table tennis, boules, badminton, a children's play area and swings in the garden. There are also a good selection of other indoor and outdoor games. A listed footpath runs alongside the rear boundary of the grounds and the neighbouring chateau is open to the public at limited periods during the year. With surrounding patio area, sun loungers and garden furniture, it is a sun worshippers paradise, perfectly situated to take in both the view and the sun from dawn until dusk. All accommodation has been heavily insulated to ensure a cool environment during the hot sunny weeks and a warm and cosy one during winter, for out of season visitors.

The cottage is a delight. Set high up with long views over the Dordogne Valley. We used the cottage as a base for local exploring for which it is very well located. We're not in the first flush of youth but we enjoyed swimming in the lovely deep pool (where you don't stub your toe on the bottom doing the breast stroke). Our co-guests children were having a uninhibited free-range time and we enjoyed watching them and envying their energy. Full marks to Chris and Kate for their quiet attention to our occasional requests. Recommended for any age but particularly for famililies with children old enough to handle the pool.

Wonderful hosts and lovely accommodations - super clean, comfortable, and spacious - await you at La Ferme de la Tour. The location is ideal for visiting many historic sights with incredible views.
We highly recommend this great getaway and hope to one day visit again ourselves!

We had a fantastic stay here. The owners (Chris and Kate) were very welcoming and so accommodating of our 2 year old. They went out of their way to bring her extra toys, made sure we had everything we needed (baby bath etc) - and couldn't have done more to ensure our stay was more perfect. Nothing was a bother to them.
We had some minor problems with the satellite TV which they were on to and fixed straight away. I cannot recommend the Cottage enough.
The villa itself was lovely with all the mod cons. The location also perfect - not far from Sarlat but in a quiet peaceful countryside setting overlooking a gorgeous valley.

What a fantastic location! We spent an idyllic two weeks here last summer (the weather could have been better!). The accommodation was very comfortable and spacious and our hosts were always on hand to help if we needed them. We found a way into Sarlat which only took about 15 mins and avoided all the traffic - fantastic - we visited nearly every day! I would recommend a get away from it all break here and will definitely visit again.
