You can see south from the pool terrace for 5km and to the north for 30km across open fields. The windmill is also close to the wine region of AOC Cahors and is designated as its own 'reserve de faune sauvage'. There is a plan d'eau with sandy lake beaches and waterslides 7 kms away at Montaigu de Quercy and there are others at Montcuq, Beauville and Tournon. Bicycles can be hired locally and tennis courts can be found at Valleilles. Horse riding and golf are also available close by, as are watersports at the Moissac lake. The attractions of the Dordogne valley are a day trip away and the town of Cahors is well worth a visit for its Roman bridge and architecture. St. Cirq Lapopie is also close and is one of the prettiest towns in France. The Walibi theme park at Agen makes an great day out for those families with younger
children and the Gouffre de Padirac, although a fairly long drive away, is spectacular.

What visitors have said about Au Moulin |

Just a quick note to say thank you for the use of your windmill. We had a lovely holiday and thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet. The pool area was gorgeous and we spent most of our time there - having a diving board and spiral slide made it all the more fun. I think the chess board was a fabulous idea and we all loved playing it. It felt like a scene from Harry Potter! At time of booking I asked for reassurance that the property was going to be peaceful and away from it all and it definitely ticked the boxes. Once again many thanks.

We arrived with high hopes from the details that you had sent to us but were absolutly bowled over with what we actually found. The location is nothing short of stunning with beautiful views on three of the four aspects, the sunsets towards the West each evening were a joy to witness. The grounds (of a few acres) were well kept and secluded which made it perfect for our family holiday. The pool (which again was secluded and shaded by mature trees) was the highlight of the garden and literally meant that we didn't need to go anywhere to enjoy our time there, although we did take the opportunity to explore the area. It was clean when we got there and was checked and cleaned twice by Gary during our stay. The windmill itself was just what we had hoped for, a little piece of charming historical France - the accommodation had been sympathetically incorporated into the spiral of the tower, all off a magical ancient wooden staircase. When we arrived everywhere was beatifully clean as you would expect and we left it exactly as we found it for your next guests. The kitchen was perfectly adequate, in fact we ate in about 50% of the time making use of the oven and microwave which both worked perfectly. The bathroom/toilet was also just what we needed for our family and the fact that there was no bath didn't detract at all in fact we found a shower of much more use. The Pigeonnier was perfect for my parents in-law and meant that we could holiday together but still enjoy our own privacy when we needed it and this was one of the main reasons why we ended up choosing the Windmill over the many others we considered. In all we had a marvellous time at the windmill and wouldn't hesitate in recommending it to anyone who was considering a holiday in the Lot region, it was good value for money considering the number of peple it could house and it had great facilities. Thanks again John for a great holiday and good luck for the future.

We'd just like to let you know what a good time we had at the windmill. The pool was clean and sparkling, in just the right position to catch the right sort of sun at the right times of day even in September. Inside the mill had all the ambience we expected from an ancient building with necessary mod - cons all in working order and my son and his partner found the pigeonnier delightful. We hadn't been to this area before but found the area around great for a leisurely visit with lunch (Penne is particularly beautiful) or a more focussed trip i.e. vineyards, prune museum or pate de fois gras museum. Everyone at these places was pleased to see us, I think, as the season was just beginning to wind down so wasn't busy.
Our special memory is of lying on the loungers at nearly midnight looking up to the night sky and seeing shooting stars, satellites and The Milky Way - this on my son's birthday and, admittedly, with jackets on!
Thank you, we had a lovely time.
