The Straw Bale Cottage can sleep up to 7 people. Upstairs accommodation comprises two large bedrooms with a large bathroom between. The North bedroom has a lovely oak framed king sized bed. The south bedroom has a queen sized bed, a single bed and plenty of room to open out the single sofa bed too. There is another sofa bed in the ground floor study. Our straw bale holiday cottages, tucked away in a peaceful corner of East Yorkshire are the perfect place for a relaxing, environmentally friendly holiday in the countryside. The Straw Bale Cottage and the Straw Bale Cabin are unique and beautiful. We built them ourselves with locally grown wheat straw and a great deal of love and care. Our super insulated, curvy straw bale walls proudly boast artwork by eco-interior design Corinne Young. |

Interior Details |
The spacious accommodation comprises an entrance lobby with cloakroom (including a shower), lounge, kitchen and study. Upstairs there are two large bedrooms with a spacious bathroom between the two. The wide straw bale walls will keep the Straw Bale Cottage warm and cosy through the colder months. The low winter sun will stream through the bare branches of the oak tree and on through the French doors to naturally warm the cottage. The log burning stove in the centre of lounge will provide additional heat and hot water. In summer those same straw bale walls keep the heat out and the building cool. Organic towels and bedding, complimentary larder basics, a convenient honesty shop, bicycles, recycling, books and games are all part of the service. A cot, high chair, stair gates and fire guard will be provided for families with very young children.
