Gorse Cottage is a spacious detached cliff-top seaside holiday cottage, with breathtaking sea views. The holiday cottage has 3 bedrooms and sleeps 6. The cottage is in Fairlight, on the sunny South coast of East Sussex, near Camber Sands and the old seaside towns of Rye and Hastings. It is decorated in bright New England beach style and is set in its own private gardens on a private no-through road. From the sun terrace you have fabulous sea views and on a clear day you can see France! At the end of the road are gates leading into the Firehills. This is the start of the Hastings Country Park with over 600 acres of ancient woodland and meadows, which is a great place to explore either on foot or bike. |

The cottage is directly adjacent to Hastings Country Park, 500 acres of unspoilt coastal countryside. Less than a 5 minute drive to unspoilt beach (Pett Level). Local towns well worth visiting include Rye, Winchelsea, Tenterden, Bodiam, Battle. The countryside has many charming villages and wonderful walks. Camber Sands is seven miles away – a fabulous beach with great sand dunes. You are six miles from Rye with its ancient port, historic buildings, cobbled streets and interesting shops and restaurants. Winchelsea, a picturesque small town with a lovely beach is 4 miles away. Hastings old town is also four miles away, with narrow cobbled streets, old pubs and antique shops. Battle, home to Battle Abbey is five miles. Bodiam castle is a fairytale castle just 10 miles away. The Jewel of the Weald, Tenterden, is 8 miles away. |

There are three bedrooms – one double, one twin and one bunk room. The sitting room is large and has TV / DVD / CD, woodburner and table football. The dining room has an 8’ table to seat up to ten people. The kitchen is well equipped and has a full range of kitchen units. There is a separate utility room with a washing machine and dishwasher (and door to the garden). There is also a sun room with doors leading to the sun terrace. The cottage has full gas fired central heating.

There is a private drive with parking for several cars. There are gardens front and back – the front garden is well screened and secluded, and the rear garden is beautifully secluded and has many trees and shrubs. There is also a fishpond and wendy house, table tennis table, BBQ area and table and chairs on a large sun terrace.

Gorse Cottage is on the warm South coast at the beginning of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty famous for its old villages, rolling hills and ancient woodland. There are many beaches to visit including Camber Sands – miles of flat sandy beaches flanked by sand dunes.
Fairlight is surrounded by great places to visit such as the picturesque towns of Rye, Winchelsea, Battle and Tenterden – known as the Jewel of the Weald. The village of Fairlight itself has a pub/restaurant and a farm shop selling fresh local produce. There are also tearooms with fabulous sea views.

Conditions of Rental |
£100 discount for couples, outside school holidays. Changeover day by agreement. Arrival not before 3pm and departure no later than 10am to allow for cleaning. 25% deposit at time of booking. Balance plus £100 breakages deposit 8 weeks before arrival. We will forward full directions and key collection points on receipt of final balance. There will be a linen and towel change in the middle of a two-week stay. Please take your own towels for the beach. Sorry, no pets. Easter, Christmas and New Year prices as August.
