What visitors have said about Great Tangley Manor

I celebrated my 50th birthday here with 20 of my friends and the one word everyone used to describe this property was amazing - and it truely is. I wanted to have the 'country house weekend' and this place certainly delivered. The love and attention both the owners and Nicho (the Manager) lavish on the place really comes through - and it really does seem like nothing is too much trouble all the way from making an enquiry and throughout your stay. I would recommend Great Tangley Manor whole heartedly - whatever your special event is this is certainly the place to be. My only regret is that we weren't staying longer and I can't wait to go back again.

The beautiful surrey countryside provides the ideal quiet location for Great Tangley Manor, a stunning house for 12 guests. We stayed for my 30th birthday, and my guests were delighted by the lovely rooms, all different in character, and the original period features of most of the house. We made great use of the space, including the large kitchen, where we easily had enough room to prepare our own meals. It was too hot to use the dining hall, but the garden furniture meant we could dine out in the courtyard where the pond is and enjoy the summer evening air with good food and wine. The relaxing grounds were a lovely way to spend a lazy couple of sunny days, and there was enough space for everyone to find a quiet corner or play a game of croquet as desired. My favourite part of the property were the upper bedrooms and bathrooms, one of which exults in its seventies Heffner-style decor, to much to the hilarity of my guests! I would recommend this as a real treat for anyone looking for a large location to spend the weekend with their friends.

We hired Great Tangley for a weekend to celebrate a combination of 50th birthdays/20th wedding anniversary/children's birthdays, and held a series of events over three days. It proved an absolutely stunning location, which left all our guests open-mouthed. The combination of a relaxed ambience with the varied and historic architecture of the house was perfect. It was great not being tied into specific caterers etc; the manager Nicho showed us around very thoroughly, and then left us to it, but would have been available had we needed anything. The rooms are fabulous, and the kitchen extremely well-equipped. Plus of course beautiful grounds. If you're looking for somewhere truly memorable, we'd recommend it unreservedly.

We heard about Great Tangley from an enthusiastic previous visitor and thus had extremely high expectations. I’m pleased to confirm that these were more than met by the quality of the venue and the excellent service. Being able to have the food for the weekend delivered in advance was fantastic. How wonderful to arrive at the Manor on Friday evening to discover our online delivery had arrived safely, been unpacked for us and the wine was already chilled. The quality of the furnishings especially the bathrooms far exceeds what you can see from the website. We enjoyed walking into the Surrey hills from the venue and not having to use our cars for the entire weekend. The highlight of my weekend was getting to Tangley early so I was able to show the others around. I loved the amazement on their faces as they saw the fabulous bedrooms and bathrooms or the grand dining room. No one guessed where the TV was hidden and it was with great glee I revealed the location. It is a breath-taking venue for an unforgettable weekend with friends or family. I’m already planning my next stay. Just don’t forget your camera – no one will believe your tales of oak panels, Tudor windows, marble baths, moats and walled gardens without photographic proof!

We recently had the pleasure of spending a weekend at this amazing property - it was perfect! We were 10 friends that decided to go somewhere special and our choice could not have been better. We loved the gardens, the moat, and every inch of the fabulous house. The kitchen and dining room is well equipped and perfect for entertaining. The property manager provided superb customer service - every question answered and all our needs catered for. I would recommend this very reasonably priced property as a fantastic getaway for anyone, and I cant wait to go there myself again.

Before I start talking about the Manor itself and my experience, I want to tell all those who will be reading my review that the website is only but a mere glimpse into this truly amazing place. The website is well designed and it does give you a lot of information with a lot of photos, but the place in itself cannot be described in words and pictures. You have to be there to experience it. Right from the word go, you have a manager who is very helpful with all the information you require and makes the entire booking process very straight forward. He is very approachable and helpful. In the very rarest of instances, if you cannot contact him, the owners are there to help. So even before you have reached the place you start getting a feel of the high quality of stay and service that you are about to receive. The property was pristine, well-maintained and tastefully done. I have mentioned in the visitor's book that it is a perfect marriage between the 1000-year past and the contemporary facilities of the present. In the present world, it is seldom you get such a place to unwind and relax. You can take long walks in the gardens or relax in the lounge - again one lounge where you are lost in the rich and royal past and the other lounge, where you are in the graceful and modern present. All these words and praises won’t do any justice to The Manor. You have to be there to experience and enjoy it. Without a shadow of doubt, I recommend this to everybody of all age groups who are looking for a fantastic and/or magical time that will turn into memories, which you will cherish for the rest of your life. Rohit.
