Deal is an attractive small town, full of character and is an ideal choice for a relaxing and enjoyable holiday! Everything is within walking distance of our house. For children, there is the pier and cafe, amusement arcades, ice-cream parlour, the beach and the sea, as well a kiddies paddling pool (summer only) a pitch and putt ground, Tides swimming pool with wave machines, a maritime museum and an impressive Time Ball museum. The Conservation area is virtually car free and the terrain is completely flat, which is ideal too for anyone with walking difficulties. Deal is a lively, friendly and sociable place, and has an abundance of interesting pubs and restaurants. It's a great place to come to spend time with friends, to enjoy good food and bracing walks in the fresh sea air. |

Come and visit this lovely part of the ‘Garden of England’ and the pretty small towns along this part of the Kent coastline. This is an area steeped in history, with its three historic Cinque Port castles in Dover, Deal and Walmer, the awesome White Cliffs of Dover, the fascinating nearby medieval walled Cathedral City of Canterbury and the charming old ‘port’ and village of nearby Sandwich (once as important as London) with its narrow streets and pretty timbered buildings. Less than a 2 hour's drive or train journey from London, Deal offers relaxation and fun. There are also many varied activities available locally for everyone in the family to enjoy - such as walking, cycling, sea-fishing, first-class golf on Deal and Sandwich courses, as well as day trips by ferry or by Eurotunnel to France (just 40 mins through the tunnel away) to stock up on your wine! |

| Blue Skies is situated in the conservation area of Deal, just a minute's walk from the seafront. Deal is located along the Kent coast 7 miles from Dover and overlooks the famous Goodwin Sands. By car it can be reached from London on the M2, then following the directions to Dover along the A2 and then follow the A258 coast road to Deal. Alternatively you can leave London on the M20 until you get to Folkestone. Next you pick up the A 20 then the A 2 and A 258 to Deal. Blue Skies is located one minute from the seafront and is only a 10 minute walk from Deal Mainline Station. There are frequent train services from Charing Cross, Waterloo East and and London Bridge to Dover and Deal, via Ashford International Station - and the journey takes just under 2 hours. |

Dating from 1750, the house has a lovely period feel and retains many of its original features - including wooden beams, exposed brickwork and old pine. The accommodation is comfortable and the decor bright and airy.
The house comfortably sleeps up to 5 adults and an extra bed can be added in the single room or on a fold-up bed in the lounge. The house is three storeys – kitchen / diner on the ground floor, double bedroom, lounge and cloakroom on the first floor, and two more bedrooms (one double en suite and one single with an extra pull out bed), and a shower room on the second floor. All bed linen and towels are provided. Books, DVD’s and games are available. There is an information book in the house which has details of the local area and amenities.

The house has a small courtyard garden with a patio table and four chairs. Room to store bikes at a back entrance. There is limited parking outside the house but free parking along the seafront just 100 yards away.

Deal also boast lots of individual food shops, including an excellent fishmonger, a well-stocked organic shop, a health food shop, an authentic Italian bread shop and cafe plus many colourful boutiques selling, clothes, accessories, bric a brac and antiques. There is even an M&S and Sainsburys for those who can't live without them! Deal also has a weekly Saturday market and a Farmer's Market on Wednesdays. Deal also hosts an Annual Summer Festival and a Maritime Fair in the summer months and there are regular Sunday concerts at the bandstand on nearby Walmer seafront. The charming Astor Theatre re-opens in the Autumn, with varied theatrical and musical performances and there is usually live music in many of the local pubs throughout the year. Deal has its own excellent links golf course and the nearby Championship Course at Sandwich will be home to the Open Tournament in 2011.

Rental |
Strictly no smoking in the house except in the courtyard. A deposit of 25% is payable at the time of booking. The balance should be paid 8 weeks before the arrival date. If booking within 8 weeks, then the full amount is payable at the time of booking confirmation. We can accept payments by cheque or bank transfer in GBP or Euros. A refundable £200 security deposit is also required with the final balance payment. No more than 6 persons should occupy the house without prior permission from the owners. Mid week breaks and long weekends are available subject to vacancies outside of the main holiday periods. Please contact us for details. We provide a welcome pack for all guests on arrival.

We very much enjoyed our week's holiday at Blue Skies. The house was very comfortable and relaxing and ideally located, so close to the sea and the beach. This was our first visit to Deal and we found it a very friendly and charming seaside town and we especially loved the small shops, quaint pubs and interesting markets. We went on some bracing walks all along the coast to Kingsdown, visiting Deal and Walmer castles on the way and finishing up with a seafood lunch on the beach. A perfect spot! We will be back again very soon!
