The house began as a small pagoda built by Lady Caernarvon in 1930 in the grounds of her estate in order to contemplate the sea views in a peaceful setting amongst trees. The trees, planted in Victorian times, are still a special feature of Plantation House and are now grown to magnificent maturity. In 1988 the property was extended to form a light, spacious and elegant house in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright built of wood and glass and hung upon a cantilevered steel frame. It was thoroughly refurbished in 2007 to the highest specification in natural materials and incorporating state of the art services. The result is superb luxury accommodation for up to six guests. |

Yarmouth, with its attractive harbour, popular with yachtsmen, together with many excellent pubs and restaurants serving local seafood, is a pleasant 15 minute coastal walk from Plantation House (or if you prefer to stay in, lobster and crab and line caught bass is available by home delivery!)
Nearby to the west are the Needles and some of the most dramatic cliff walks in England (the Tennyson Trail). To the east of Plantation House is Newtown Creek, a National Trust preserved medieval village and wetland bird reserve. |

The entrance to the ground floor is via a sunny verandah leading to a large entrance hall with access to; a library, magnificent main reception room including a spacious main dining area, and large fully equipped kitchen with a second informal dining area. Separate laundry and drying rooms. The breathtaking main reception room has triple aspect windows giving uninterrupted 180 degree views of Lymington and the Solent. This is very comfortably furnished and has a large open fireplace as a focal point. On the first floor are three double bedrooms (one king size, one large double and twin singles which can be converted to a double) each with en-suite facilities (each distinctively designed and including ‘Raindance’ shower units). The master suite also has a separate dressing room and stunning views over the Solent. The other two guest suites are also excellently appointed.

The mature trees have been supplemented by more recent plantings and there are woodland shrub walks, lawns and an ornamental garden with pergola and a formal fish pond. The gardens are professionally maintained to a high standard throughout the year and provide sanctuary for a wide range of attractive and unusual wildlife including red squirrels and many types of aquatic and woodland birds. Fishing from the sea wall is excellent when the bass are running.

Rental |
A deposit of 20% of the rental fee is payable if the booking is made more than 8 weeks before the start of the rental. The balance is due 8 weeks before the start of the rental. For bookings made less than 8 weeks before the start of the rental period the total fee is payable. Non payment of the
balance of the rent on or before the due date shall be construed as a cancellation of the contract by the Client. The property will be available from 4pm on the day of arrival until 10 am on the day of departure. Heating, services, logs, use of bed linen and towels, a welcome hamper of groceries (and a supply of essential items e.g. salts and pepper etc), cleaning products, rubbish bags, toiletries and toilet rolls are all included.
