Our architect designed cottage will seduce you with its unfussy contemporary style, all wrapped up in a modern take on a medieval inspired construction comprising an immense green oak aisle frame and fronted with an oversize porch. The house is lovingly crafted and comprising more than 12 tonnes of sustainably grown green oak. The interior is a blend of high quality natural oak and limestone floors and contemporary luxuries in the form of under floor heating, decadent free-standing baths, powerful showers and a stunning bespoke oak kitchen with Aga. Enjoy uninterrupted views South towards the Cotswold escarpment over our adjoining orchard, home to our ducks and hens — they may even lay you a few fresh eggs. The bistros and boutiques of Broadway and Cheltenham are within 10/20 minutes, whilst famously pretty gastro pub and antique filled villages of Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Camden are also within a short drive. Don’t miss a trip to Daylesford organics, complete with Spa, famous with the Chelsea set and just 20 minutes away. You could try the award winning Cowley Manor C-Side Spa which is also a 20 minute drive away and now offers day spa packages. For entertaining younger members of the family, Toddington Steam railway is just 5 minutes away. Another family favourite is the Cotswold Farm Park with a selection of farm animals and indoor activities. You could also visit the nearby Domestic Fowl Trust where you can feed chickens and ducks as well as enjoying the toddler friendly in and outdoor play areas, including a soft play zone. |

Windfall sleeps up to 6 in 3 double suites (2 are king size) each with their own luxurious bathroom facilities so families or groups of friends can all enjoy their own privacy. The king-size master bedroom has a vaulted ceiling set into the oak and the en-suite bathroom has walk in wet room shower and free standing bath for two. There is an adjoining “baby suite”. All bedrooms are ensuite and are equally but distinctively furnished with gorgeous Egyptian cotton linen, fluffy white towels, digital flat screen TVs. If you can drag yourself away from the relaxed social atmosphere of the farmhouse kitchen or from an evening spent barbequing on the patio, you will find our stunning sitting room a perfect place to end the evening in front of the roaring log fire or with the French doors thrown open, watching the world in our orchard go by.

The house is set in the grounds of our grade II listed property, but has its own private gardens and uninterrupted views to the South over the adjoining orchard towards the Cotswold escarpment. Our orchard is home to our hens and their house and if you are lucky they will lay you an egg or two each day, as may our ducks. There is a mixture of some ancient and many recently planted fruit trees of local varieties, apples, plums, gages and the famous Worcester Black Pear for you to enjoy in season.

The cottage is set within the small village of Beckford in the North Cotswolds, with direct access onto Bredon Hill, the Cotswolds' largest outlier which has endless walking, mountain biking and other opportunities. Beckford has a shop with deli and post office, a children’s playground and a church. A floodlit tennis club — day membership can be arranged, a pub/restaurant and even its very own nature reserve, complete with wild ducks/geese/swans and much more. The cottage is super child and baby friendly and includes the following: Cot / travel cot / 2 high chairs / 2 stair gates / inflatable single mattress / childrens plates and cutlery / sterilizer / trainer toilet seat / potty / changing mat / bath mat / baby step / baby bath / toy box / games / wooden scooter / books / soft toys / childrens DVD’s / football table (for the grown ups) / bats, balls & outdoor toys. Fantastic, a fabulous house in a great location. The little extra touches were well thought out and made all the difference. The area had loads to keep everyone from the toddler to the grandparents happy, we loved the chickens especially!

We had a great weekend break in late February for my mother-in-law's 60th birthday. Windfall cottage was perfect for us - 3 lovely double bedrooms and a cute 'cot suite' for our 2 year old with the added bonus of toys and books for him to play with. The house is stunning! Unusually the weather was good too which was an added bonus.

We stayed at Windfall Cottage between Christmas and New Year. The cottage is absolutely gorgeous and had everything we needed to make our stay fantastic. The combination of luxurious layout and facilities and owners that were extremely helpful, made our stay comfortable and relaxing. The cottage is in a delightful village with shops, a pub at the end of the road, and great walks from the house, away from busy roads and with a playground a couple of minutes away. We also had great trips out for lunch at Daylesford Organics, shopping in Cheltenham and the kids especially loved the journey on a steam train from Toddington Steam Railway. The stay was a real treat and we would recommend it to anyone. I'm sure we'll be back ourselves before too long.
