Further Details We welcome all guests with bread, milk, butter, tea, coffee, locally made cookies and a current newspaper. The owners of this cottage in the Cotswolds live locally and can help with things to do as well as manage special requests - from dinner reservations and recommendations on what to do, to putting champagne and foodie treats in the fridge for special occasions. The Cotswolds is one of the UK's most visited areas. It has a rich heritage, and spans the pretty area from Stratford upon Avon to the North, Bath to the South and Oxford to the East. Home of the cream tea, it is awash with chocolate box cottages, pretty lanes, the ubiquitous Cotswold stone walls, and many quintessentially English villages. The Coln Valley is achingly beautiful, whatever the season. In autumn, the smell of woodsmoke from the many open fires inside pretty stone cottages adds to the atmosphere. In winter, the shooting season means local eateries are bursting with pheasant, partridge and woodcock, while chaps in tweed are a common sight in the rolling countryside. Spring and summer are perfect for exploring valleys with tumbling streams and pretty flowers. The owners of The Roost are happy to organise for you (at cost, and often at a discounted rate): babysitting with CRB checked sitters, learning to play polo at a private club, hot air balloon flights over the Coln Valley, horse riding in the Coln Valley, bike hire with picnic.

  Conditions of
Rental
Flexible rents can be negotiated for weekend breaks - although we do get very busy over the summer and will prioritise weekly requests. Don't forget that the Cotswolds is incredibly beautiful over 'low' season too - lots of log fires and pretty walks, not to mention cosy country pubs! We ask for 50% deposit on booking and the remainder eight weeks ahead of arrival. We can take payment by credit or debit card, but have to pass on the bank's 2.5% handling charge. We also accept cheque and bank transfer. The costs shown are fully inclusive, save for logs for the woodburner which are stacked outside and which are charged at £3 per basket on an honesty box system.

Other Information Babysitting available / Short breaks available

Like living in a film about the Cotswolds! Just as we imagined and so cosy. Can't wait to come back next year.

A cold beer in a sunny garden with views to die for. We hardly used the kitchen but the BBQ was on every day. Great setting.
