Today Owlpen offers the privacy and space of your own Cotswold cottage, backed up by every attention to detail in comfort, design and servicing. All this in the setting of a picturesque Cotswold estate that is 'legendary' (Country Life). Owlpen's hallmark is quality, with peace and seclusion such as you will find nowhere else in southern England. The romantic hamlet of Cotswold holiday cottages at Owlpen features nine dreamy hideaways. They include 'listed' historic buildings, each one of them offering something unique. Sleeping from 2 to 9, they range from snug medieval barns and byres to quite sizeable farmhouses.

What visitors have said about Owlpen Manor

“The most lovely place in the region - will make this an annual visit!” I hired as many of the lovely cottages as possible for me and my friends (I think 25 of us in total), and booked the restaurant for the Saturday night for a 3 course and to enjoy ourselves into the small ours.... The hospitality was second to none, with Karen & Nicky (the owners) providing historical insight into the magnificent and beatiful buildings and stunningly kept gardens, and Amy (manager) who looked after us impecibly and provided us with lots of helpful items to make our weekend hugely enjoyable. The cottages are extremely well equipped, very comfortable and totally charming. Weather was stunning and we took several walks through the valleys, woods, and even swam in the mill pond! The food (roast beef) was some of the best I've had in this country. Higly recommended, especially if you just want a quiet break from it all!

Thank you so much for making it possible for us to enjoy such a perfect retreat. The Tithe Barn is a mystical space set so perfectly in the lush valley. We very much appreciated the silence and beauty of Owlpen for a rare weekend away from the usual pressures of life. With sincere thanks.
Rachel & Tadinder,  Owlpen Estate and Restaurant,  Sep 2009

A MAGICAL PLACE We went for a long weekend to celebrate freinds' 30th birthdays. There were 17 of us and we stayed in the Manor farm, Over court and Woodwells cottages. They were all great, and the Woodwells cottage was especially beautiful with lovely old furniture. The setting was fantastic for a weekend escape - the manor is tucked away amongst hills and trees and each of the cottages felt very private. We enjoyed playing games and eating in the gardens of the cottages and cycling and walking around the estate, which has 5 miles of walks within it. We also walked to the neighbouring village pub in Uley (the Old Crown, ~15 min walk) for dinner and the local Uley ale, and to the Rose and Crown in Nympsfield (~45 min walk), which was a great pub. For our first night we ate in the Cyder House restaraunt in Owlpen Manor. Mary, the chef, had cooked a three course dinner for 17 people, which was fantastic - the setting was a lovely cande-lit converted barn, and the food and wine was very good. We will definitely go back, either in the summar again to enjoy the countryside or in the winter to enjoy the rustic cottages and open fires.
