There is a wealth of rustic beams, sandstone alcoves and fascinating features throughout the cottage which has kitchen, sitting room, utility room, three bedrooms and bathroom. Town End Farm in the village of Little Salkeld is a traditional working dairy farm which has been run by the Hebson family for 50 years and now Peter and Joyce Hebson farm it organically with their son Martyn.

Details on the area surrounding the property/accommodation
While Little Salkeld and the Eden Valley are relatively visitor-free compared with the busy tourist area of the Lake District, there is plenty to see and do just on the doorstep. The village is only half an hour's drive from Carlisle and Gretna Green on the Scottish Border and the historic World Heritage Site of Hadrian’s Wall. There’s plenty to explore in the great outdoors either walking, the fascinating Lacey Caves on the banks of the River Eden are a short walk away from the cottage, and cycling – the Coast to Coast route passes through the village. There are outdoor swimming pools in nearby villages and Center Parcs with all its activities available with day passes is only eight miles away. And if you fancy a turn in the saddle, Bank House Equestrian riding school is just over the fields in Little Salkeld.

“Joyce & Peter are very special people making you feel right at home. I’ll miss the sights and sounds of Townend, I hope that some of the tranquillity has rubbed off and I can take it home. Can’t wait to return again.
