  General Info
Tara is a historic house which has been carefully and lovingly renovated by its owners to create a real home-from-home atmosphere in an area which truly is outstandingly lovely. With 410 square metres of living space, and room for easily 10 people to sleep, the house is perfect for large groups of families and friends and the layout is such that it is impossible to feel crowded. Instead this is a place for people to come and enjoy each other’s company because there is nothing else getting in the way. What a lovely, novel feeling it is! The holiday cabin is made almost entirely of wood and rests on 4 massive arched stone cellars, and all the restoration has been done with a traditional approach, thus retaining the original magic and style of this enchanting home.
Details on the area surrounding the property/accommodation
Tara is situated in the middle of the famous Beskydy Mountain Nature Reserve in the North East corner of the Czech Republic, close to the massive Sance reservoir lake and within view of the Slovak and Polish borders. This is an area which is visually beautiful, has a rich history and which boasts many wonderful places to visit. Or you could just experience nature in its grandeur right on your doorstep! The house is in the middle of its own sprawling wildflower meadow and all around this is a lush forest. From the veranda you can see straight across the valley for about 12 miles and you won’t see a single house, light, telegraph pole, road or any other sign of civilisation. As part of a tiny community of farmers, you are not completely cut off, but the setting is wonderfully remote.
  Getting there & away/local amenities
Getting There: Brno Airport (Ryan Air) is about 2 hours away from the holiday cabin and Ostrava Airport (Czech Airlines) about 45 minutes. We can provide a taxi service with a reliable driver who knows the area well and who will not charge the usual tourist rates. Guests can be driven straight to the house or, if you prefer, you can be driven to the car hire pick-up point and you can then follow the taxi driver into the nature reserve. Car hire for a medium-sized saloon is around £19 per day.

What visitors have said about Tara
The view from the veranda really was so stunning that it quite often didn't seem real and just didn't get 'old'. The barbecue was so pleasant we rarely cooked inside, and my grandmother who has never liked barbecues has now requested a barbecue for her birthday! A lovely benefit is being able to have fresh (and I mean so fresh it was still sometimes warm) goats milk delivered daily by the goat herder you might have seen wondering over the meadows earlier. Our first family holiday in 22 years and it was absolutely fabulous.

Amazing house in beautiful location with wonderful facilities and comfy beds. Loved the place and would definitely recommend it to our friends.

Incredible place! We had the most wonderful time here. It is truly perfect, the view, the interior, the beds, the stove... We had a wonderful Christmas, thanks to you! Don't be afraid to bring kids. They'll have a blast outside even without snow.

We had such a fantastic time in your incredible house, Tara. We loved it. Just wanted to say thank you for your directions for driving from Brno airport. They were absolutely brilliant. So clear to understand. Hope you found everything in good order after we left. We did masses of walking whilst there and the children did a lot of running up and down your balcony which was my favourite bit of your house. What an amazing view! Thank you too for the shopping and meal cooking.... it was extremely helpful.

Tara is just a lovely house! All mod cons, but with the feel of a peaceful place where people have lived for hundreds of years. The goulash waiting for us on Saturday was delicious, and just what we needed after a long day's travelling.

Good family time together, enjoyed evening meal times. House very comfortable and loved the top of the bread oven - very cosy for lazy sleeps in the afternoon.

Delightful, peaceful and tranquil house. We've had a fantastic week here in Tara. The Beskedys provide a beautiful setting for a superb house, full of all the mod cons.

Stunning! I don't think I have ever visited a place so peaceful. Endless starry nights next to the warm glow from the fire and BBQ - inspired idea. The wildlife is fantastic, we even managed to see a black stork and its incredible wingspan. What outstanding beauty there is all around, and such luxurious accomodation! What an idyll! Would love to return and see the place in the winter months.
