Details on the area surrounding the property/accommodation
Dubrovnik (Ragusa) is the most picturesque city on this side of the Adriatic Sea and one of the most attractive in the Mediterranean (it was called "Pearl of the Adriatic" by Lord Byron). It is a city of unique political and cultural history and of world-famous cultural heritage and beauty, earning its place as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dubrovnik is full of history and architecture for you to explore. The Rector’s Palace is a remarkable piece of gothic architecture in the middle of Stradun, which is the only broad street inside the city walls. Very close to the Rector’s Palace is the Sponza palace or "Dogana" (which means "customs house"). This is where all the imported goods were presented and duties were evaluated and paid, so it really was the home of Republic’s main income. The Martecchini palazzo is next to the Sponza and is also near the church of St Vlaho, the patron saint of Dubrovnik.

What visitors have said about Martecchini Apartments

We happened to run into the gentleman who was renting these apartments, Pero, whilst on our way to another hotel/apartment recommended by Lonely Planet. We got so lucky! Not only is the apartment on the 2nd floor of this building large and comfortable, but it has the most amazing views. It's located right in the heart of the old city and the price was excellent!

From the moment we arrived at the airport, we already had a taxi ready to pick us up (it was Peter's son). We got dropped off at the entrance to the Old City walls of Dubrovnik. Peter met us there and walked us to our room in the apartments. He sat down with us and went over any questions we had and gave us practical tips for our stay. As for the apartments themselves - they were perfect. Right along the Stradun, very clean, and a very cozy feeling. These apartments were exactly what we needed for our stay. The price was very reasonable too.
