On Sunday lunchtime, the restaurants are full with local Canarian families meeting up for their fish platters and fantastic Lanzarote wines. One restaurant to try is Amanecer (Sunrise), just a minutes’ walk from the cottage and real favourite. It is run by 4 brothers who provide both excellent service and food. The village also boasts a good number of restaurants and Tapas bars, cafes and a supermarket with cash machine. The mountain village of Haria is a short drive away where there is a local craft market on Saturday mornings. The main beach at Arrieta is perfect for swimming, fishing and sometimes surfing. This beach has a great lunch Tapas bar and play park for children. There are also lovely beaches driving north up to Orzola where there are golden sand sea lagoons. From Orzola. there is a day passenger ferry which takes you over to the unspoilt island of La Graciosa. This island has not changed for centuries. There are a few 4x4 vehicles which can take you around the island or you are able to hire mountain bikes. There is a small fishing village where you can have a good local fish for lunch and sample the canarian potatos (Papas Arrugadas).

What visitors have said about Seafront Eco Fishermans Cottage |

We stayed at the fishermans cottage between 10-17 January.Great to leave freezing cold weather in UK behind for a week. The cottage is lovely its quirkiness being its charm.Having a shower outside every morning was a great start to the day. Arrieta is a nice quiet place to stay great beach and places to eat. It was good to have the Finca close by for fresh eggs and any help needed. Lanzarote is a fantastic island to explore and easy to drive around we particulary loved our time over on La Graciosa.Michelle and Tila have done a brilliant job in offering the chance to enjoy the real Lanzarote

"This is our second time staying with Lanzerotte Retreats and without doubt it’s the mixture of style, luxury, green living and warm welcome from Michelle, Tila, the kids and the donkey who all make you feel like one of the family. We had the best of both worlds splitting our 14 night break in April between the Eco Chiquitita Yurts followed by Fishermans Cottage. It really was a great combination for my husband and I. Marc likes to hop on a wave and check out the surf and I like hopping onto one of the bikes and pottering around the beaches and little shops. The free fresh eggs from the on-site chickens is the perfect way to start the day and a massage at sunset from the lovely Joy is a must. Michelle can organise for her to come to you. We both had a massage in Fishermans Cottage looking over the sea at sunset...lovely. Thanks for another great holiday. We love how you guys approach your business and life style. Luxury, Green, Friendly and refreshing – perfect.

An absolutely lovely, if simple, little house right by the sea. Lying in bed at night (or occasionally by day) listening to the waves was fantastic as was sitting on the sea wall in the sun drinking our morning coffee. Arietta is a very nice place to stay, although it goes to bed incredibly early for Spain! It reputedly has the best fish restaurants on the island and we saw no reason to argue - excellent value too. We were generally surprised at how attractive, interesting and in many parts unspoiled Lanzarote is. Michelle and Tila, great hosts and the evening out with everyone from the Finca and our days windsurfing were great fun. As was New Years Eve in the village square in Teguise. An excellent holiday. Thanks

We left a bit of ourselves at the lovely Fishermans cottage in Arrieta, nodding off to the racket of the Atlantic, communicating ham-fisted by sign language, with the youthful Señor Pepe (91) next door, fishing with Ernest Hemmingway´s doppleganger on the pier. A special place it is.

The last two weeks we had of our holiday on Lanzarote and found this beautiful house - fishingman cottage in Arietta. It is so lovely and from the living and bedroom you can look over the ocean. Michelle and Tila were the best and made our stay really pleasant!
