  General Info
Getting back in tune with nature is one of the major lures - the gardens are awash with citrus trees, Canary Palms, figs and lavender; several walks begin and end close to the guesthouse; and there are more strenuous activities close by, including windsurfing and mountain-biking. Casa el Morro is located in a rural area at the highest peak of the village of Uga, called El Morro. It is situated in the south of the island near the National Park of Timanfaya and a few minutes from La Geria, an area of natural beauty famous for its vineyards. The accommodation comprises 7 individually designed suites, fully equipped and self–contained. The house dates to the XVIII century and was tastefully restored some 10 years ago in the Canarian style, using original materials and other antique fixtures and fittings. The result is an ambience which provides homely surroundings and a relaxing environment.

What visitors have said about Casa el Morro

Thank you so much for the wonderful time we had in Casa el Morro. We enjoyed the apartment, we enjoyed the swimming pool and especially we enjoyed your special touch and great taste.

I have to be honest, I never write reviews, but this holiday was different. I had spent a large part of the year working really hard in London and needed some time ou - it was October and there were limited places left with sun within reasonable distance of the UK, and the places that did were either badly priced for what you got in return or standard hotels in standard locations full of everyone but the actual locals that live there. I wanted sun/warm weather. Not too far from the UK, reasonable and regular flights from the UK circa 3-4hrs. Not a busy tourist town but not to far from one if I wanted it, unique/tasteful accommodation in a chilled and calming location. What I got was exactly that, not to forget the extraordinary beauty of the surrounding area of beaches (small coves, so not windy), unique views and walks around the volcanoes (which were amazing). I think the real add is the personable and incredibly pleasant staff that work and own Casa El Morro - Raquel, she made me feel very welcome. The service and care provided by Raquel and her team was exceptional and that is what makes a good place to stay and spend your well earned money! I truly recommend.

This holiday accommodation is really beautiful, the photos don't do it justice. The rooms are bigger than they look and full of character. The pool area is a haven (or at least was most of the time), with day beds to relax in the shade and loungers to laze in the sun, all with plenty of cushions to make you extra comfy. All the rooms were pretty much full when we were there and yet we still had at least 2 days when we had the pool to ourselves. We found Lanzarote a really interesting island to explore with notably beautiful beaches at Papagayo and Femara. The accommodation has a fully equipped kitchen which we enjoyed cooking in and settling in with a bottle of wine from the local vineyards. We would whole heartedly recommend this as a holiday destination. ENJOY!

We stayed in the El Alijibe rooms which were a delight! Beautifully decorated and furnished with everything you could want, although we were hardly inside. The bedroom was quirky and enchanting and we slept soundly every night. The pool area was perfect, with big shaded beds around the outside and a great view over the village below. There was a sauna which was easy to use. Raquel had organic produce which we happily purchased - aubergines, eggs, chard, radishes etc which we cooked up ourselves. Pedro the cat was a welcome friend and we did some yoga which was great. Raquel is a very warm and helpful host. To sum up - total heavenly relaxation and with your rental car its easy to explore the island.
