What visitors have said about Green Gecko |
| |
| |
We were met off our flight at Udon Thani airport, and driven out to Green Gecko. Half way there we wondered where on earth we were being taken - as the main roads dissolved into smaller ones and then to uncovered ones!
The property was invisible from the road but after a short drive through a wood we saw it rise up in front of us. We stayed here in a typically Thai styled house, with temple like roofs and wooden decking, where our own turquoise swimming pool was.
There were two airconditioned bedrooms, but we chose the master bedroom for its pol views and vistas over the surrounding countryside - and its choice of two bathrooms, one indoor, one outside. There was also a living and dining room, a proper kitchen and a large outdoor seating area.
The meals were delightful and included in the rate, and the hosts were very helpful and friendly, and really helped make our stay memorable.
We had a very enjoyable time, and felt we had got to live and discover the real Thailand. The house was luxurious and very private - and we'd love to return!
Note that this is outside of Udon Thani, so not the place to stay if you need to be in town for business etc: much more holiday orientated.
