Sitting on the private deck of your cabin there's a good chance you will spot the elusive Knysna Loerie, Vervet Monkeys and if you're very lucky a bushbuck or a bushpig. Each cabin is fully equipped for self-catering. In addition, the owners have added a small menu of home-cooked frozen meals for you to prepare and enjoy in your cabin. Their 'breakfast-in-a-bag' menu offers a choice of home-bakes, farm-fresh free-range eggs, bacon, home-made jam and complimentary tea or coffee, ordered and delivered the evening before. |

10 minutes from the world's largest free flight bird sanctuary, Monkeyland Primate Reserve, The Elephant sanctuary, Wild Cat Sanctuary, unspoiled beaches and fine restaurants and golf courses (nearest one 10km). Moon Shine on Whiskey Creek has its own marvellous range of activities. There is a swimming pool on site where you can take a day off from Garden route sightseeing. There is also a childrens play area. A walk down to our mountain pool is a must and there are lots of opportunities for birdwatching here.
Venture a little further afield, and the whole Garden Route will open up before you - national parks, beautiful coastline, whale watching, beaches, great restaurants, wine tasting; you name it, you'll find it on the garden route! . |

Firefly and Bushpig forest cabins were created for 2, but can sleep up to four people on a queen sized bed and double sleeper couch. The cabin has a Queen Ann fireplace and a fully equipped kitchenette. Tree Frog sleeps up to five and Vervet sleeps up to six; both have queen sized beds and separate sleeping areas (an upstairs loft in Treefrog and separate bedroom with bunk beds in Vervet) to sleep more people. Both have a fully equipped kitchen and a spacious living area with open fireplace and French doors. Stay in Vervet or Butterfly if only to experience the fabulous showers with glass bottles in the walls finished in creative mosaic. Butterfly garden cottage is quaint and full of character; it has two interleading bedrooms (sleeps up to 5), a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom and dressing room. All fully equipped for self catering.

In Firefly and Bushpig, two sets of double French doors lead from an open plan interior onto the elevated deck surrounded by indigenous forest. In Treefrog, a unique approach via a wooden walkway leads you to a wrap-around deck on two sides. The cabin is elevated high amongst the trees offering magical views of the forest and its creatures. Vervet is the latest and final addition to the forest cabins. It is spacious for a family and boasts the finest shower on the Garden Route. Butterfly cottage is set in its own garden and boasts the finest views on the property and a wide veranda from which to enjoy them. There is a BBQ area, treetop forest jacuzzi, and a short hike away a natural mountain pool.

There's a sparkling swimming pool for you to enjoy, a fabulous playground for the kids and a three-quarter hour hike takes you to a beautiful natural mountain pool - a magical place to swim and picnic. The new Tree Top Forest Jacuzzi Spa recently opened. Guests get to enjoy private use of this beautiful space for one hour a day / night complementary - we're happy to share our paradise with you. And best of all, there is NO television to distract you!
Moon Shine is not only a place to stay close to all the wonderful attractions of the Garden Route but a place to be when you're not sightseeing or beaching or fishing...A great place for "free range" children and grown- ups! Each private cabin has its own braai / barbeque area, bathroom with shower, toilet and basin, linen and towels, and parking spot. Cabins are cleaned before and after occupation and every 7th day of stay.

Extra beds, where possible, are available at R50 per night. Arrival should be after 2:00pm and departure by 10:00am. A non refundable deposit equal to 50% of the total is payable upon booking. Balance on arrival.

Moonshine on Whiskey Creek is a wonderful place to stay. We only had one night but would have loved to stay longer. The hand built forest cabins are comfortable, clean and well designed. Everything you need is available and it doesn't cost the earth...in any sense of the word. We didn't see monkeys during our short visit but we saw lots of frogs and other wild life on our walk down to whiskey creek. There is a swimming pool, very cool and refreshing, which looks natural and fits into the surroundings. The childrens play area is imaginatively created and the owners are friendly. Can't recommend this place enough if you're looking for peace in a natural environment that is just a stones throw away from Plett. Perfect!
