The De Zalze Golf Winelands Estate is 5km from Stellenbosch in the heart of the Cape Winelands. The course is rated number three in the Western Cape. The house is on the edge of one of the golf course lakes, 200m from the 6th fairway, yet retains total privacy. The 300 hectare estate also houses three productive wine farms. There is a restaurant on the golf estate which is renowned for its international cuisine and wine tasting opportunities at Kleine Zalze. De Zalze is a private estate, and is fully secure. |

All five bedrooms (4 upstairs and 1 downstairs) are ensuite, and have French doors leading out onto a terrace / balcony. The upstairs rooms have views either over the lake or over the garden. Downstairs, the double aspect entrance hall leads to the kitchen / family room which has a modern open plan granite topped kitchen, equipped with Bosch appliances as well as sofas, tv and stereo system and access to the breakfast patio, rear patio, garden and pool. The dining room seats 10 and has access to the patio, pool and lake. Bedroom five is also downstairs. There is also a pool table, secure storage for golf clubs, a double garage and a scullery.

The patio at the rear houses a built in BBQ (covered), teak table and chairs for dining outside and landscaped gardens leading to the edge of the lake and swimming pool. The gardens have been landscaped with indigenous plants that blend well with the estate planting. Private swimming pool, 9m x 4m and 1.3m deep throughout. Sun loungers and cushions are also provided.

There are excellent shopping facilities including two supermarkets, ATM machines, chemists, art and craft shops, cafes and restaurants within ½ mile. In the town of Somerset West (10 minutes drive) there is a huge shopping mall including several banks, a cinema complex, internet cafe and a wide variety of restaurants. Just 2kms way is the very pretty town of Stellenbosch, located in the heart of the Cape Winelands. Stellenbosch itself is one of the most beautiful towns in South Africa, it is charming, unique and has a rich history dating back to the 17C.

Changeover days are flexible. Reservations will be confirmed on receipt deposit (25% of total). The rental balance must be paid 8 weeks prior to travel together with the damage deposit.

The accomodation was of a very high standard and was spacious and luxurious with lovely views over the golf course and lake. The villa was within walking distance of the clubhouse. De Zalze is right in the middle of the wine region and very close to Stellenbosch which is so lovely to wander around enjoying the scenery, cafes and atmosphere. We will definitely be back and cannot reccomend it hightly enough.
