Further Details Marrakech is an extraordinary place, a mixture of medieval and modern - you'll leave feeling you've been to another world. Not just in the sense of having stepped back in time in the ancient medina, but also in the sense of having experienced a richness of stunning backdrops, magical places, and the seductive charm of Moroccan hospitality. Our aim at Marrakech Riad Dar Zaman is to enable our guests to experience the Marrakech we've come to know and love over the last 5 years. We have a fantastic, hard working team who are ever present yet discreet, helpful and kind. Our cook wil serve a tagine that you’ll swear afterwards was the best meal you ate in Marrakech! The team will happily share their excellent knowledge of Marrakech with you - they know where to buy quality babouche at a fair price, where to get the best spa treatments, where to take your cooking class (at Dar Zaman!), and where you can eat a tagine seated metres from a stunning waterfall in the Atlas Mountains. The riad is a sanctuary from the bustle of the medina – we offer luxurious bedding, complimentary toiletries, hairdryers, wifi, open fireplaces in the salons for the winter months, and a deliciously cool dipping pool for the summer months. Mint tea is complimentary for all guests – all day and night long. The staff will happily share the recipe and show you how to make it. Don't just take our word for it though, you can read our reviews on Trip Advisor - we’re currently ranked 37 out of over 900 B&Bs in Marrakech.

What visitors have said about Marrakech Riad Dar Zaman

If you are considering Marrakesh as a holiday then you need to seriously consider the Dar Zaman Riad as your accommodation. The whole team are brilliant and can't do enough for you. Peter the owner is very chilled out and helpful, Hassan, Anwaar and Sufyan are exceptional and will do anything for you with a smile. Kabira cooks amazing food and keeps the Riad spotless. They all give great advice about exploring the city and enjoying your time there. The Riad itelf is beautiful and is an oasis of calm in the dusty bustle of the medina. We had the roof terrace room which opened onto the communal terrace area, but with only 4 rooms, its never going to be too busy to leave your door open. Having never been to Marrakesh before, it is a real experience but is not for the faint hearted traveller. The Riad is located in a residential area of the medina itself amongst the locals. Its tucked away through a trail of alleyways which take a bit of getting use to and navigating our way back took a couple of days to get use to. Its about a 15 minute walk to the main square, Jemaa El Fna through the maze of Souks (Market Streets) and you are bound to get lost. This is fine in the daylight, but can be quite scary at night, and we got lost most nights on the way back. The trick is to have 50 dirham in your pocket, the address on piece of paper and to jump in a taxi from the main square to avoid the stress if you think you'd be too worried. The taxi takes just over 5 mins. Having taken the open top bus tours, most of the big hotels are located outside of the bustle of the medina, the Dar Zaman is right in the heart of it and gives you a real Marrakesh experience. Tips: school boy French is useful, pack light and leave lots of space for your many purchaces, go for a traditional "hammam" in the local washhouse, smile but keeping walking when shopkeepers try to draw you in, haggle for everything - start at a third of their first price, drink mint tea, eat tagine!

From the superb service to the luxury decor and awesome roof top terrace every part of this accommodation was perfect. The coolness of the courtyard with complimentary mint tea to the sun drenched roof top patio this Riad is an oasis of calm in the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh. The breakfast is fresh, plentiful and tasty and sets you up for the day. The souks and square are a ten minute walk away. Wifi throughout was an added benefit. Nothing for these guys is too much trouble, their knowledge and tips were invaluable in making our first visit to Morocco faultless. We ate dinner in two nights and had the best tagine we'd experienced. We ate on the terrace which enhanced our experience even more. Recommend you book a transfer through the owner Peter which will escort you to the door. The guys there will give you a map on how to get to the square and back. Yes you'll get lost but this just adds to the excitement. The local Hammam is two minutes away and you'll be scrubbed to an inch of your life but boy do you feel clean afterwards. Awesome experience. Fantastic place to stay in a superb location.

As a solo traveler I was a little concerned about staying at a Riad. I thought I would be odd man out in a house full of couples. But the staff at Dar Zaman were outstanding at making me feel comfortable. Kabira, the cook makes an amazing tagine (the best meal I had in Marrakech!) and wonderful breakfasts, not to mention a big hug in the morning. Anouar and Achraf the night shift and day shift managers go above and beyond to make sure all of your needs are met, and were great company. Peter the owner is generous with his time and suggestions for what to do with your time in the Medina, as well as day trips. After 5 days wandering around the souks and Djemaa el Fna and the craziness that goes with that, it was nice to walk through Riad Dar Zaman's door to find peace and quiet, peace of mind, and friendly faces whom you knew had your best interest in mind.

Dar Zaman is a boutique riad strategically located in the heart of the Medina: when considering where to stay location is key. Peter and his team are professional, friendly and collaborative. The atmosphere is magic. Perfect for couples. I would strongly recommend it.

Heaven is not the sky above us, it's in Marrakech. Once you've stayed in Dar Zaman, you never want to leave. It's such a lovely riad: nice patio, stunning roof terrace, clean rooms... Malika, Achraf and Abdelah, the staff, are so friendly and polite. Nothing is too much for them! You can feel that they enjoy helping you. Here one really feels at home. The riad is located in the Medina, close to all the important attractions, but it's not in the touristic area, which is positive. And it's easy to find your way back. Breakfast is also wonderful: freshly-made yoghurt and orange juice, bread, jam... The pancakes that Malika makes are just delicious! You won't regret staying in Dar Zaman. I would recommend it to everyone & if I go back, I will definetely stay their again.
