General Info |

Marrakech, a mix of medieval and modern, an enchanted place buzzing with life. Set against the backdrop of the magnificent Atlas Mountains, its maze of honeycombed alleys glow in different tones of red as the sun moves from East to West. It is a place which floods the senses with strange and overwhelming sights, sounds and aromas, casting a strange, heady spell over the unsuspecting traveller; a place where Europe meets Africa and Arabia, where time becomes suspended, offering a glimpse of a rich and exotic past... |

What visitors have said about Dar Zaman Riad Marrakech |
| |
| |
We have just returned from our first visit to Marrakech, having had a wonderful time.
The Riad is clean, inviting, homely and above all else, in a busy, bustling place like Marrakech, it was fantastic to feel that we could return to a safe oasis of calm after our exploits.
With Peter away, Hassan was very much in charge and made us unbelievably welcome. We're not sure when he sleeps, but he was always there to welcome us when we returned, the door magically opening as we fiddled with our key in the lock. With Hassan's help (and a good introductory talk from Sarah too) we were booked into the two best restaurants in town, directed to a great Spa (Isis), connnected with a taxi driver who seemed to escort us wherever we needed to go and given directions galore. Peter's support in booking us onto a cookery course prior to our visit (La Maison Arabe) was also really helpful.

This riad is a delightful place to stay. It is in the heart of the medina with Moroccan life going on all around you. Peter, the owner, is a caring person, who works hard to make sure your stay is an enjoyable one. He gives you useful information about Marrakech and can organise taxis and trips to places further afield, e.g. Ourika Valley and Essaouira. There are several good restaurants within walking distance of the riad, but if you decide to eat in then Fatima will cook you a delicious meal, which is served in a beautiful setting. Hassan serves your breakfast, serves tea on the terrace and waits on you at your evening meal. He is a very helpful young man, nothing too much trouble. All in all a wonderful experience.

From the moment we walked into Peter's little piece of heaven we knew we were going to have a wonderful mini break in Marrakech.
Peter showed us to our lovely room and then we had mint tea and a little chat on the terrace about the area. We then walked in the main Square and then back for the most delicious dinner cooked by Fatima.
Breakfast on the roof was a long drawn out affair with home made breads, fresh eggs and lots of talking.
Our day out arranged by Peter was not to be missed even though the weather turned colder the higher we got in the mountains.
Stopped at Branson's Kasbah on the way back and then drinks at the Mamounia. The gardens were wonderful as was the wine in Cafe Arabe!
Great place Peter and all!
We loved it, thanks!
