This seven room kasbah, available to let by the room, or the entire building, is just outside the town of Mirleft. Mirleft is a little Berber village situated 1h30 south of Agadir. This village of the Souss (south west of Morocco) has exceptionally good weather (360 days of sunshine per year and a constant temperature of 25°C). Its deserted beach and the friendliness of its inhabitants make this place a top destination - locally, it is called "la plage sauvage".
It is an ideal refuge for lovers or honeymooners and an ideal base for exploring the coast, north and south, and the unsung delights of the Anti-Atlas. |

We can book and arrange any of these activities for you, and help you to organise guided tours and excursions. Ahmed will be delighted to show you the best fishing beaches of the region. Surfing is popular here – from beginners to professionals and all points in between. There are fabulous trekking opportunities in the empty wilderness of the Anti Atlas mountains. Or you could go trekking on horseback into the desert. Or you could wallow in the infinity pool and soak up the silence! |

Nicole has put all her love of Moroccan buildings and finishes into her southern kasbah: floors are sensual-soft bejmat or old-style tiles, walls are beautifully smooth-hued tadelakt, the patio is wafer bricks, the double-height hall is topped by a great dome; the library is the quiet spot you may need from time to time. Arches and high, carved antique Marrakechi doors are everywhere, a magnificent four-pillared fireplace brings extra punch to the dining room, and the salon, with two more fireplaces, leads out to the great brick terrace. The patio gives the house a perfect heart. Bedrooms, each in a different style (African, Fassi, Art Deco,...), have space and comfort to spare, carefully-chosen furnishings and really super bathrooms. Most have their own fireplace and terrace too. And at every turn, from every window, a view to die for. Our menus provide healthy food to include organic vegetables and fresh fish.

The kasbah is a well-placed base for visiting the towns of Morocco’s "deep south". Tiznit with its fortified walls, its palm groves and its silver jewellery. Sidi Ifni, and its Spanish art deco architecture. Tafraout, and its great circle of pink granite. Goulimine, and its traditional camel market on Saturday morning. The oasis of Tata, on the Sahara plain at the foot of Jebel Bani. Tarfaya, in the Western Sahara, where Saint Exupéry wrote his book "Southern Mail" and established his base at Cap Juby for the French Air-mail service between Toulouse and Dakar. Massa, bird nature reserve. Taroudant, and its magnificent red-mud walls surrounded by Orchards of orange trees and olive groves. Agadir, and its restaurants and nightlife. "Hemingway disait que le paradis devait ressembler à un place de barrera dans les arènes ou à une rivière de truites...Il n'avait pu encore connaitre Nicole et ses "filles", cette vue unique, ces feux de cheminée (après une journée de plage!) et cette maison si charmante et accueillante.
Une semaine faite de découvertes et de belles rencontres que nous n'oublierons pas.

We arrived at Kasbah Tabelkoukt late one night after flying into Morocco from Glasgow which was at -18 degrees! All our arrangements with Charles Arbousset at the Kasbah had been easy and uncomplicated and the final part of our journey fell neatly into place when our taxi driver picked us up at Agadir Airport as arranged. Excellent - we were on our way on a warm night for 2 full weeks of chillout. We had a lovely friendly reception when we arrived, our bags were carried to the room and we were offered dinner.............at 10.45 at night! Excellent service. Our room was huge and comfortable and we woke to a hot Sahari wind blowing and breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Atlantic. We couldn't fault this place and all our needs were anticipated almost before we had thought about them ourselves. Fabulous - we'd come again.
